Steemingzen contest || What would I do with 30SBD? @traderpaw
“I learned to give not because I have much, but because I know exactly how it feels to have nothing.” Anonymous
When I received my first payout on Steemit, I am very excited and happy because I myself is struggling financially and the amount is a big help for me and my family. At the same time, I acknowledge the fact that the amount I got from this generous Blockchain is not entirely for me.
At an early age of 5, I already sells fish at Carbon Public Market - Cebu's busiest fish port. At that time, I already saw the extreme poverty in my country. Homeless people wandering around begging on the street and digging on garbage for food, entire family living beside the street on a makeshift shelter, small children selling foods or performing on the on a heavily congested streets for money - these are what I witnessed everyday and it is really troublesome and heartbreaking.
When I got a job as a school teacher specially teaching at a Public School, I personally spend my own money for some of my students who's family is struggling financially. I see students faint because of hunger, unable to go to school because their parents can no longer send them to school due to financial difficulties. Despite of all of these extreme poverty that I witnessed, I can still see HOPE. I see hope from a student came from a very poor family who diligently go to school everyday even without breakfast and jeepney fair. I see hope on every homeless person I meet smiling and thanking from the food they received.
Why did I decide to participate in this contest?
I participate in this contest to raise awareness for all Steemians that there is a responsibility behind us on every single dollar we earn from this generous Blockchain. We should use part of our earnings on activities that benefit mankind. Simple charity programs for the children and the homeless is very easy to do once we start earning from Steemit.
Equivalent of 30SBD in the Philippines
30SBD converted to Philippine peso is nearly Php10,000.00. You can already buy four 50 kilograms sacks of rice already with this amount. 30SBD is a lot when spent on charity works. The money can feed a hundred people or can provide grocery packs for 50 families.
What would I do with 30SBD?
Driven by my goal to use Steemit to touch more lives, I will be using this amount to reach more people who is very much in need of assistance. I will use this to feed the homeless and the street children, buy grocery packs to be distributed to families who are very much affected with this pandemic and provide assistance to poor but deserving students.
Steemit is an answered prayer for me because this gives me the opportunity to realize my dream to help more people.
