What Would Be Our Response If Extraterrestrials Happens To Show Up?

We are keen to see our cosmic neighbours - Aliens, but there appears to be a question lurking around which would be, what our reactions would be if these aliens happens to show up at our doorstep ?, would it be violent, frightened or peaceful ? . This on the other hand also leads to the most fundamental question which would be, Are we actually ready for their visit ? , what if they had evil agendas and weapons far more sophisticated than ours.
