Hello steemians, greetings to everyone and the good people of this community. Today I'll be a making post about electricity. Please read and share your opinion.

There have been lots of inventions which made man's life beautiful, but have you thought about how the other inventions and life itself would be without electricity, therefore it is not wrong to that it is of man's finest inventions. Some people views electricity from a simple concept of putting on and putting off power. Electricity is a well known form of energy, which can be produced and generated through various ways. It is one of the important things in our lives, because with it's aid we get light and power for our home appliances. Almost every appliance in our homes, schools, offices and companies uses electricity.

Types Of Electricity

There are two generally known types of electricity which are; Static and Currents electricity.

Static Electricity:

Static Electricity can be gotten when there is a contact between protons and electrons at an equal amount i.e Subatomic particles which are positively and negativity charged. In order to for this to work these particles must be of opposite charges ( positive and negative). If the particles are have like charges then static electricity cannot be produced because there is no friction. The existence of this kind of electricity can be simply proofed when a plastic pen, rubber comb or pencil is vigorously rubbed on animal fur, wool, or the human hair and then placed near small pieces of paper. The result will show the plastic pen will attract the paper to itself.

Current Electricity:

This kind of electricity is generated when there is a movement of electrons (negatively charges atoms) in metals and chemical substances. Current Electricity simply defined is the flow of electric current through an electric field.The current passes through a conductor which can either be good or bad. The good ones allow free flow of electric charges through them, while the bad ones resist. This is the most useful kind of electricity , it is the one which we use on daily basis to power appliances.

Basic Sources Of Electricity

1.) Renewable sources:

Renewable energy, I'd an energy source which replenishe just as fast as it being used. With the aid of certain invetions energy from renewable sources can be converted into electricity. Example; A solar panel to collect suns radiation, a wind turbine which is rotated by the wind to produce energy, hydroelectric power which gives electricity from the flow of water bodies, etc.

2.) Fossil Fuels:

Petroleum or crude oil is collected and refined to produce fossil fuels. Electric generators whose engines work with these fuels to produce electricity have been built, the common fuels which power the generator is petrol and diesel. A generator produces enough electricity to power a house based on its capacity.

3.) Nuclear Energy:

Nuclear energy or nuclear power can be defined as the use of nuclear reactions to generate electricity while using a nuclear plant. Nuclear power is gotten through nuclear decay, nuclear fission and nuclear fusion reactions. Statistics have it that the most electricity gotten from nuclear energy is produced through the fission of plutonium and uranium.

Some Uses Of Electricity

Electricity Gives Heat:

As we know energy can be converted from one form to another, therefore electricity is converted to heat energy. The simple explanation to what happens is that electric energy has been converted to heat energy and this is achieved with the aid of a conductor, by letting the electricity pass through. The heat therefore is utilized properly with the aid of certain appliances. E.g Electric pressing Iron, electric kettle, electric cooker, etc.

Electricity Gives Light:

When electric current is oassd through an electric bulb, it's filament becomes very hot and causing bit to glow. Light is produced when the filament glows. In the case of a florescent bulb or lamp, the gas inside it will glow and give out light.

Other uses include: Powering appliances in our homes and offices, such as; Refrigerator, ceiline fan, Television, etc. The use of electricity cannot be emphasizes therefore it is not wrong to say that in recent times life is almost useless without electricity.
