Nanomedicine - What is the role of Nanotechnology

in Zero to Infinity3 years ago (edited)

No one could have anticipated how far the sciences researching these phenomena would progress when physicist Richard Feynman first talked about the possibility of tracking and even manipulating particles at the molecular and atomic level in 1959. After ten years, Professor Norio Taniguchi coined the word "nanotechnology" (very small particle technology, after "nano" = dwarf in Greek), and another ten years, atoms became visible and nanotechnology advanced beyond the elementary stage, thanks to the invention of the electron microscope.

Nanotechnology has attracted funding for research and in the field of medicine, for activities aimed at operations on human biological systems at the molecular stage, due to its wide range of applications (military, climate, astronautics, special materials).

Nanomedicine is the key tool of struggle, particularly in areas where conventional medicine has proven ineffective, with the stated aim of eradicating all common diseases recognised in the twentieth century, pain, and suffering.

  • the ability to diagnose diseases more precisely and quickly

  • Drugs are accelerated by targeting them also to diseased cells.

  • minimising the risk of side effects by preventing care in areas where it is not needed

  • tracking the actions of treated organs to assess treatment progress

  • dealing with non-agents

  • medication that is biodegradable - a decrease in local effects

  • medication control and versatility

  • tests carried out specifically on diseased organs

Nanorobots, on the other hand, are the extraordinary elements introduced by nanomedicine. Nanorobots are tiny particles that range in size from 0.5 to 3 microns in diameter and are made mostly of carbon, but also of hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur, fluorine, and silicon.

They are injected directly into the bloodstream and "paddle" faithfully to diseased organs or others that need to be analysed. The results of the real-time analyses, as well as the effects of the therapies, are accurate. In a variety of fields, research accompanied by practical accomplishments and a sequence of interactions has yielded impressive results, including:

  • bactericidal water micro-particles are used to sterilise hospitals and exposed areas inside them; when they come into contact with microbes, they erupt, releasing oxygen that destroys bacteria.

  • Incorporation of nanorobots into the body to diagnose diseases; they relay real-time information on the examined organs while also assisting in their healing.

  • Labeling of certain cells by inserting nanoparticles into the body that search for sick and invading cells attached to them, allowing the cells that cause harm to the body to be detected and examined.

  • pain alleviation

  • Replacing missing teeth with new ones that have properties identical to the originals

Nanomedicine has made incredible strides in cancer care by detecting cancer cells in the early stages and assessing healing with nanoparticle treatments. Nanomedicine has revolutionised the diagnosis of thrombi and atheromas, as well as their effective and rapid treatment, in the field of circulatory system diseases.

All of these findings, backed up by experience, have accelerated research and increased the amount of money invested in the industry, making nanomedicine a pinnacle in nanotechnology and one of the most important growth priorities in the twenty-first century.

Thank you .

Thank you.

Last few decades, a massive revolution has taken place in this medical science. But still, the progress is not that satisfactory comparing to those diseases.
