Good evening friends, today we continue with the fourth edition of the contest let's solve these logical problems, because I would like to share with you my passion for all those riddles and problems that challenge us to see beyond what we see with the naked eye and we must apply lateral thinking and logical thinking to solve them.

I am very grateful and pleased with the receptivity that the contest has had since the number of participants increases with each opportunity.

In some problems we just have to apply the basic mathematical operations, in others, no specific knowledge is needed, just think a little differently. Attention to detail is often the key to finding the solution.

Hi @josegonzalito, thanks for these puzzles I really like solving them. I have a question and a suggestion, if thats ok.

Question : Sheep have 2 hooves on each leg, but together its called a cloven hoof, so which one are you referring to in Problem 2. Should we count 1 hoof per leg or 2?

Suggestion : It would be good to give separate higher prize for the first person giving all correct answers and distributing the remaining prize among others. Otherwise others can blindly copy the answers and the person who put the effort solving it first will not get any benefit. I have the answers for Problem 1, but once I post it anyone can copy. :-)

(2x2) + 7 = 11
(3x3) + 5 = 14
(6x11) + 3 = 69


Answers: (Problem 2)
The total number of sheep is five,including one ewes.

(2x2) + 7 = 11
(3x3) + 5 = 14
(6x11) + 3 = 69

There are five sheeps, one amougst them is an ewes.

Problem 1: (jumbled equations)
(2x3) + 5 = 11
(3x4) + 2 = 14
(5x13) + 4 = 69

Problem 2: (The sheep)
Let, r= number of ram
e= number of ewe
Total number of sheep head= (e+r)
But each sheep has four(4) hooves
Therefore, total hooves= (4e+4r)
And the number of ewe tongues is e, because every sheep has one tongue
Expressing this mathematically,

4e(r+e)^2=100
Dividing both sides by 4
e(e+r)^2=25
But 25 is a perfect square of a prime number (5), but e and r are non-negative integers
Thus, e= 1 and r=4 and total number of sheep heads=5

Therefore, there are five (5) sheep, of which only one (1) is an ewe
