INTRODUCTION:

Ethics are basically considered principles, values and morals. It is based on the rights and wrongs. Ethics are knows as a guidance for morally appropriate or inappropriate behavior on the other hand, Leadership is known as the art of encouraging and uplifting their followers. Ethical leadership is related to encouragement of the people and telling them to do the right thing and to live up to the standards that are regarded as appropriate, influencing the people by their virtuous acts as well as setting an example for others by doing things in a right way compassionately. Ethical leadership is a guidance to the people in accordance with the standardized values and morals.

VIRTUOUS LEADERS AND PERSONAL VIRTUES:

Virtues are calibre of personality to achieve both magnificence and enhanced personal satisfaction. Excellences are considered as attitudes, traits and miens that are very essential for establishing moral connections. Honorable leaders have virtuous ethics that not just reflect standardized qualities but also practices worth imitating on an individual dimension yet exhibit the capacity to accomplish results. The six ideals of exceptional leaders are character, competence, clarity, compassion, commitment and courage.

PERSONAL VIRTUES:

• CHARACTER:
  The character of a leader is an essential part of being a virtuous leader, a leader must possess strong character in order to be a successful leader. Character is the stepping-stone of being a virtuous leader. A leader who respects and honors his commitments are successful and has the strong character.

• COMPETENCE:
  Competence is all about ethics, morals and virtues a leader possesses. If a leader possesses competency, their followers will be motivated enough to work for their goals.

• CLARITY:
  A leader who has clear vision and possesses the qualities of clarity can easily determine the main purpose to their followers, as it is very essential part for leaders since they must possess the quality of clarity to make them aware of their responsibilities.

• COMPASSION:
  Being a compassionate leader means how good you treat your followers, a virtuous leader treats their followers compassionately and how much you show concern to them, a compassionate leader motivates their followers in everything and shows great respect to everyone else.

• COMMITMENT:
  Commitment is another essential part of being a virtuous leader, one must possess the ability to stay committed to their words and actions, this is one of the essential qualities of being a virtuous leader in order to gain respect and trust of other followers.

• COURAGE:
  How can someone become a virtuous leader without having the courage? A strong leader must possess courage to initiate any impossible thing or turn impossible into possible and the ability to take great risk is also a part of being a courageous leader.

FACTORS OF VIRTUOUS LEADERSHIP:

• ROLE OF A LEADER:
  Virtuous leaders are the one who keep on uplifting and motivating their followers, the one who possess all the excellent qualities to be a virtuous leader. The role of a leader is obvious, and that is to make everyone believe of their status by being virtuous to their character and competencies.

• COMMUNICATION WITH OTHERS:
  Just like other qualities are an essential part of being a virtuous leader, communication is also one of the important qualities a leader must have no matter what. A leader is someone who knows how to communicate effectively with their followers and possess the ability to make everyone understand.

• MORAL DUTY:
  Leaders who have the complete understanding of virtues and who know how implement their values according to the principles. A leader is the one who believes in justice and equality and the one who applies ethics in decision making and is enthusiastic about making things easier for others.

• LEADERSHIP STYLE:
  A virtuous leader must use his authority in a positive manner and should have the ability to make others believe him/her , their personality should be motivating, impelling and inspiring towards everyone else around them.

CONCLUSION:

To conclude, a virtuous leadership is someone who stands according to their moral, values, principles and ethics, and gives immense importance to virtues and who possess the qualities of good character and competencies in order to lead his/her followers within the boundaries of ethics and virtues. All of the qualities including commitment, clarity, courage, competence, character and compassion makes them a virtuous leader. One cannot simply be called a leader without possessing the essential qualities.
