Greetings world; I am super happy and I feel privileged to be a participant of this awesome activity. Permit me thank this platform for this opportunity to share to the world where we come from and the love we have for the place. I see it all as love because even the things I would outline to change is all out of love. Let me get right into the write up now.

Introduction

I go by the username @nancymboghi. I am a Cameroonian. Cameroon is a beautiful country found in the Western part of Africa. It has a population of about 27 million inhabitants distributed within Ten(10) Regions. Amongst many other things, Cameroon is well known for its outstanding performances when it comes to football as well as its bilingual nature. Most often, out of the country, when asked where I come from and I say Cameroon, the next thing that follows suit is Samuel Eto’o; football.

Reasons why I love my country

There are obviously a thousand and ten reason why I love my fatherland, but for the sake of this activity, I’ll limit myself to three(3)

1. Welcoming.
In this beautiful place called Cameroon, the population is so welcoming. No matter where you find yourself, be sure of open hands and a warm embrace. We are one another’s keeper and we believe loving is sharing. We may not have as world may term it but we are always so contented with what we have as we are ready to share no matter how little. Everywhere you would find yourself in Cameroon, you would for sure feel like home. There is no distinction as regards social class, color, status, race and you can name them all. We believe humans are one and should be treated with love.
I adore this aspect in Cameroon and with Cameroonian and I am glad it is been passed from one generation to another.

2. Food
How possible is it to talk about Cameroon without mentioning the varieties we have. Just thinking of our dishes now makes me salivate. Ten Regions with 10 different cultures and ways of life and countless dishes pertaining to the different tribes. Can you just imagine what I am talking about when I say variety???
Cameroon is blessed with food. Some of our traditional meals include Achu, Eru, Ndole, Turning Coco, kwacoco, Fufu corn and khati khati, Mbongo tchobi, Kondre, Sangah, Cornchaff, Boboloh and a whole lot more.

Just try visiting Cameroon and see for yourself what I am trying to explain because words have failed me here.

3. Nature

Cameroon has this beautiful topology with high hills, valleys and lowlands. It equally has rivers and streams. There are a variety of trees and plants which makes the beauty of the place so natural and peaceful. Trees with fruits such as avocado, guava, mango, and a lot more could be spotted as you walk along. Fruits such as pineapple, pawpaw, and oranges are also seen in most of the regions as you walk along.
This is an utmost blessing to my country Cameroon and it therefore serves as a reason why I love it.

Three changes I want to see in my country

• Education
  True we are very educated people as we go to school as the word entails yet, wouldn’t it be best if this education was more organized? Ok, this is what I mean; take for example Japan. They are a technologically advanced nation as they have the resources and all. What they do is to train their young ones from the tender ages to do gadgets and things like that.
  Now applying that to my country, we have agriculture in all domains, mineral resources et all. Why not focus our education in that direction? Wouldn’t it be more sensible and overall beneficial if we could really focus that way?? These are some of my thoughts and I would really like to see it change soon.

• Tourism

I think Cameroon has more than a lot to offer than the world sees. This is totally because the tourism sector is functioning below capacity. What if we could focus more and develops this sector ??? By so doing, we will sell our culture to the world and let all come enjoy this our little paradise we live in. This is one thing too that I would like to see changes in.

• Last but not least, I can’t forget to talk about;
  corruption.
  Just like in most nations, corruption is like a cancaworm which keeps eating into our beautiful economy. This alone has destroyed more than I could count.
  If and only if our patriotism was more than our individual selfish wants, such would really be avoided to a greater extent. This is one very important aspect that i would like to see change in my country.

Notwithstanding, I do my best to change all these in my little corner and in my little way I can. As often said, it is little drops of water that make an ocean and as such, nothing no matter how little is ever to little

Conclusion

In all these, Cameroon is a beautiful place. I invite the whole world and whoever is reading this to try and see for him or herself. Once again, thank you Steem pakistan for this beautiful and emotional moment you have given for us to share about our roots and how lucky we feel to be from there.
