To be honest, Today, I felt compelled to write on this topic since I know there are many others like me who have faced discrimination in their lives due of their skin colour, caste, or any other defect.

I have a gloomy tone and have been chastised by society on numerous occasions. Not only society, but also my own relatives, have always placed a premium on those who have a good tone. Why is it that those with lighter skin tones are prioritized in contemporary culture over those with darker skin tones?

This is an essential question since many people believe that racism has vanished because slavery was abolished, segregation laws were repealed, and a black president was elected. Today, there are very real ways that racism is institutionalised, challenges that require our attention, ranging from mass incarceration to healthcare discrimination.

Recognize all forms of racism

Most people claim to despise racism, but unless they can pinpoint what it is, it will continue to grow. Racism has a gaslighting effect on those who are afflicted. They are told that their experiences are not indications of racism and that they are misinterpreting what is going on. People are even shamed when they speak up.

Toss down the laws that are discriminatory

It's not enough to recognize that a law has a discriminatory intent or impact; it must be overturned.

These laws encourage racist views by making it considerably more difficult for underprivileged populations to escape poverty, attend good schools, obtain particular employment, and so on. When institutional obstacles are removed, a person's race ceases to be an impediment to be overcome.

People must take the first step in personal anti-racism before fighting to remove racist systems. Anti-racism is a lifetime endeavour. To be anti-racist, you must recognize and accept differences rather than pretending they don't exist.

Many people believe that teaching love and acceptance will help society overcome racism, but the truth is that even if everyone stopped being racist overnight, the system would still produce outcomes that disproportionately affect particular races. That's because the systems were built with that exact aim in mind, even if it wasn't stated directly.
