My Favourite Festival

A festival is a celebration that usually occurs once a year to commemorate a particular event, just like the Muslims who celebrate eid mubarak to celebrate the birthday of the great prophet Muhammed
We, the Christian, our festive season, come during the end of the year, and it is always fun because we will have enough to eat and drink.

In my country we have different festivals that are celebrated by different cultures and traditions and I am happy to discuss them with you.

I am a Christian and it is our tradition to celebrate the birthday of our Lord Jesus christ every 25th of December, we eat a lot, wear new clothes, celebrate ourselves for witnessing such a wonderful day.
Many people started the year with us and there are more hwere to be found so for us to witness this special day is a thing of joy, on thus day we all have freedom to ho anywhere we want to go and have fun.

Our parents will cook food and also buy gifts for us to take to the less privileged and also share it among ourselves.
This is a special day in the life of all Christians because Jesus died for our sins, so it's always special to celebrate his birthday.

In my locality there's a festival known as new yam festival This place is known for farming and once it's time for harvest they organise a special ceremony to celebrate the best harvester
On this day, they will load of special delicacies to enjoy from, and the king of the community is the chief host of the event.

This festival is held once a year to celebrate farmers and also enjoy the new yam because for some period, yam will be scarce because it is the season for planting so when it's time for harvesting they is a celebration among the people.
A wonderful festival is organised and they will be lots of food and drinks to enjoy.
This festival is the best festival in Nigeria and I always enjoy it, as a foreigner when you attend it you will definitely have a story to tell.

The national festival in my country is the argungu fishing festival a very wonderful festival they attract foreigners to our country to celebrate with us.
This is a very wonderful festival that is commemorated for fish farmers, on thus day they will be an open fishing ceremony for fish farmers to cath the biggest fish and anyone who harvest the biggest fish will be given an award.

This, festival is a unique festival, and it is very fun to witness, if you witness this festival you will not want to come back because you will definitely enjoy the different cultures and traditions of Nigeria.
They will be dancing competition among different ethnic groups, cooking competition with different types of fishes and if you taste it you will not want it to finish.

My favourite festival among all these festivals is the Christmas 🎄 Day celebration. This is a very important festival in the life of every Christian because it is a day that the whole world celebrates.
I started celebrating this festival when I was a kid and I have enjoyed every bit of this festival, I have many memories of this festival and it will always remain in my heart.

We will go to church prepare ourselves very well and look very good on that day, I remember when were kids we will be praying for this day to come so that we will all enjoy ourselves and have fun.
We will go to our friends' houses to have fun, eat and drink to our satisfaction.
This is my best festival and I am already making plans for this year's celebration. I will really make it memorable.

My last year's celebration was really fun and memorable because it was the first Christmas that I celebrate with a smartphone and I took wonderful pictures of me and my friends, I had the opportunity to explore new opportunities and also hangout with my childhood friends and we really linked up together.

Me and my friends and I went to each other's house and ate good meals, I also went to church to thank God for his guidance and protection towards my life.
Life is short, so any opportunity that we have, we should try and enjoy it to the fullest because life is unpredictable.
