BIOGRAPHY OF THE PROPHET ﷺ......
PART:-•••••••62.
Tabari's tradition sheds light on the reason for the Prophet's departure.
The tradition is:-
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned the coming of revelation and said:
"There was nothing more detestable to me than a poet and a madman among the creations of Allah (I could not bear to look at them with great hatred).
(Now the revelation came) so (I said in my mind) This incompetent--that is, you--is a poet or a madman! Quraysh will never be able to say such a thing about me.
I am going to the top of the mountain, from there I will roll myself down and end myself and be relieved forever.
He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: I went out thinking this, when I reached the middle of the mountain, I heard a voice from the sky. O Muhammad (peace be upon him)! You are the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and I am Gabriel (peace be upon him).
He (peace be upon him) says: I raised my head towards the sky. I saw Jibraeel (peace be upon him) in the form of a man standing with his feet in the horizon and saying, O Muhammad (peace be upon him)! You are the Messenger of Allah and I am Gabriel. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says that I began to see Gabriel and this occupation made me forget my intention. Now I was neither going forward nor backward. However, he was turning his face in the horizon of the sky and wherever my eyes looked towards, Gabriel (peace be upon him) appeared like this.
I remained standing continuously, neither moving forward nor backward, until Khadijah (RA) sent her messengers in search of me, and they went as far as Makkah and returned. But I stood my ground. Then Jibraeel left and I also returned to my family and reached Khadijah and sat leaning on her thigh.
He said: Abu al-Qasim! where were you By God, I sent people in search of him, and they went as far as Makkah and came back (in response to him) and told them what I had seen.
He said: Uncle's son, may you be happy and be steadfast. By the one in whose possession is my life. I hope that you (PBUH) will be the Prophet of this Ummah.
After that, she went to Waraqa bin Nawfal. Told them the story. He said: Holy, holy, by the one in whose possession is the soul of Varaqa, the same honor Akbar has come to him that used to come to Musa (peace be upon him). These are the prophets of this Ummah. Tell them to be firm.
After that, Hazrat Khadija (RA) came back and told the Prophet (PBUH) about Warqa.
Then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) completed his stay in Hira and came (to Makkah), Warqa met him and after listening to his verbal details, said: By the One in Whose possession is my soul. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the prophet of this Ummah. The same name Akbar has come to you (peace be upon him) that came to Moses (peace be upon him).
