BIOGRAPHY OF THE PROPHET ﷺ......
PART:-••••••29...
As far as Christianity is concerned, it came to Arabia through the Ethiopian and Roman invaders and conquerors. We have already mentioned that the Ethiopians occupied Yemen for the first time in 340 AD and remained there until 678 AD.
During this time, the Christian mission continued to operate in Yemen. At that time, a mustahabb-ud-dawat and a person of miraculous deeds, named Femiyon, reached Najran and completed the Christian religion among the inhabitants there.
The people of Najran saw some signs of the truth of him and his religion that they became interested in Christianity.
Then, as a reaction to the actions of Dhunwas, the Ethiopians occupied Yemen again and Abraha took over the government of Yemen and tried to promote Christianity on a large scale with great enthusiasm.
The result of this enthusiasm was that he built a Kaaba in Yemen and tried to prevent the Arabs (from Mecca and the House of Allah) from performing Hajj there. And he demolished the House of Allah in Mecca. But for this audacity of his, Allah Almighty punished him in such a way that it became an example for the first and the last.
On the other hand, due to the proximity of the Roman territories, Christianity spread among the tribes of Aale Ghassan, Banu Taghlab and Banutai. In fact, some Arab kings of Hira had also accepted Christianity.
As for the Magian religion, it had gained popularity mostly among the Arabs neighboring the Persians. For example, Iraq, Bahrain (Al-Ahsa), Hajar and the coastal areas of the Arabian Gulf. In addition to them, during the Persian occupation of Yemen, a few people also accepted Magianism there.
The Sabean religion remained, but the writings that have been found during the excavations of ancient monuments in Iraq and other places show that it was the religion of the Chaldean people of Abraham (peace be upon him).
In ancient times, many inhabitants of Syria and Yemen were also followers of this religion, but when Judaism and Christianity came to an end, the foundations of this religion were shaken and its shining candle was extinguished. However, some followers of this religion remained, either mixed with the Magians or in their neighborhood, in Iraq, Arabia and on the coast of the Arabian Gulf.
