✨..Resolution on the Construction of the Kaaba and the Black Stone Dispute..
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was in his (35)th year of age when the Quraysh started the construction of the Kaaba anew.
The reason was that the Kaaba was only in the form of a high wall. Since the time of Hazrat Ismail (peace be upon him), its height was nine (9) cubits and it had no roof. Taking advantage of its condition, some thieves had stolen the treasure from inside. In addition, a period of time had passed since its construction.
The building had fallen into disrepair and the walls had cracked. In the same year, a strong flood occurred, the flow of which was directed towards the Kaaba. As a result, the Kaaba could have collapsed at any moment, so the Quraysh were forced to rebuild it to maintain its status and dignity.
At this stage, the Quraysh unanimously decided that they would use only lawful money for the construction. They would not allow the wages of prostitutes, interest, or anyone else's ill-gotten wealth to be used (the old building had to be demolished for the new construction).
But no one had the courage to demolish it. Finally, Walid bin Mughirah Makhzoomi took the initiative.
When the people saw that no disaster had befallen it, the rest of the people also started demolishing it, and when the foundations of Ibrahim had been demolished, they began construction.
Each tribe had a separate share for the construction, and each tribe had piled up stones separately. Construction began. A mason named Bakum was the supervisor. When the building had reached the Black Stone, a dispute arose as to who would have the honor of placing the Black Stone in that place. This dispute continued for four or five days and gradually became so intense that it seemed that there would be severe bloodshed in the land of the Haram.
But Abu Umayya Makhzoumi created a form of decision by saying that whoever enters the Masjid Haram gate first on the second day should be the judge of their dispute. The people accepted this proposal.
