I agree. It's not the most funny place. Heavy hearts everywhere. If you got something funny I read though I rather watch.
I agree with you to some extent because fun and joy are different for different personalities. In fact, I derive fun from when I satiate my joy and passion by writing on every topic including fiction and humor at the same time while writing on technical topic which is my expertise I feel the same so cheers.
You don't need Steemit to have fun if writing brings it. It's a bit hard to see that 'fun' if I look around here. So I limit it. My fun of doing is elsewhere.
