Hope Volunteer's,Volunteer Programme 03.

Wishing a good day for all the members in Steem Sri-lanka community.So today I'm going to write about a charity event that we organized and done under Hope Volunteer's Community.

Helping Hadhapaanagala Methsewa Foundation,

හීන අරන් හදපානාගලට,

This is the third programme that we organized as hope volunteers.This programme was held in 13 Jun 2020.

What is this Methsewa Foundation in Hadhapaanagala?

This is a foundation and also a home for the mentally and physically handicapped children.There are children who cannot do any work and help themselves in any daily routine.Some are banned from there home and some don't know that where are there mothers.This is not a money earning foundation.This is a home of disabled children.This is the home that protect them.Anyone can help this foundation by presenting these children breakfast,lunch or dinner.And we also can help the foundation by presenting wheel chairs,school accessories,clothes and many more things.

As a tradition before the programme held a meeting..So we had a meeting on 10 Jun 2020.So we planned that what we are going to do in this event.We had managed to plan our agenda on 11 Jun.This time we didn't want to collect money from our volunteer members as we had a balance from our last event.

We decided to give them lunch as we have to go to Hadhapaanagala from Bandarawela.If we choose to give them breakfast the time will be not enough for us to get there in time.So on 12 Jun 10 of our members including me decided to go to Hadhapaanagala.So we managed to get all the things we need to cook.We stayed in one of our members home that night.We decided to cook in that house as that house is situated near the foundation.

Our menu for Lunch,

Vegitable fried rice
Red rice
Dhal curry
Tempered potato
Brinjal mojo
Pol sambol
Chicken curry
Yoghurt and Ice cream for deserts

13 Jun early in the morning rest our group members has arrived Hadhapaanagala.So we finished cooking at about 11:30 a.m.So we pack all the food in a proper and easy way.So we departure at about 12:00 p.m. from our friend's home.At about 12:30 we arrived at the Methsewa Foundation.We have bought children some clothes and essential items and also a water filter and five cement bags.so we unload all the things we bought for them.

Those days were the days that the first wave of Covid 19 is going in Sri-Lanka.So at the entrance the security checked our body temperature and let us enter inside.The manager told us that they can't allowed us to go near the children as they need to protect children from covid-19.When I saw those children I was heart broken and feel so sad.

These are also humans like us.But for some reason they were born like this.We can't reject them.We have to take care of them.We have to protect them.This foundation is doing that in a heart touching way.
