Rambutan

I thought today I want to tell you about something interesting. That is about "Rambutan", one of the most popular fruits in Sri Lanka these days. Rambutan was first mentioned as a "sapindaceae" plant. This is Rambutan's homeland, Malay-Indonesia. Rambutan is also a tropical plant. The fruits of the rabutan plant begin to grow according to temperature. Even in Sri Lanka, the Rambutan plant has a higher tendency to bear fruit in warmer climates. Many growers continue to cultivate rabutan. Rambutan can be propagated by grafting, branching and budding.

Also, the Rambutan plant has many other benefits for humans. The seed in the middle of the rabutan is full of fat and oil. It is used in many businesses as well as in soap production. Also, Sri Lanka is a country perfect in "Hela Wedakama". That is why in Sinhala medicine the roots, bark, leaves etc. of rambutan are used for medicine. Rambutan contains very small amounts of nutrients.

Rambutan is famous in many parts of Sri Lanka. Rambutan is cultivated as a home garden in many parts of Sri Lanka. When Rabutan is mentioned, the people of Sri Lanka first think of "Malwana". Because Malwana has been a popular destination for Rambutans since those days. Rambutan is harvested in May, June and July. Rambutan can be seen being sold in many places in Colombo these days. These days I also eat rambutan as usual. Similarly, Moneragala and Bibila in Sri Lanka are areas where rambutan is cultivated.

Rambutan trees are very beautiful at the time of ripening. I think the beauty of the Rambutan fruit is what makes Rambutan so famous. Also, there are different types of Rambutan. I think this rambutan cultivation is very popular in Sri Lanka as well as in other countries.
