ADB (Asian Development Bank) Site Visit...10% - SL-Charity

Most of the Sri Lankan construction projects have been initiated with the funds coming from Sri Lanka Government, Urban Development Authority, Privet Clients (Local & Foreign) & Foreign Funded Organization (ADB, JAICA, World Bank etc).

Most of the Government, Urban Development Authority & Privet Clients (Local & Foreign) projects were suspended & terminated due to corona and the financial crisis occurred during past 3 year period. It was a huge impact to the construction industry and many peoples lost their jobs and hopes as well. Sad thing is unethical behavior of the Sri Lanka government also impacted to initiate this. As an average 80% people were unemployed directly due to this, indirectly it may be doubled.

My company also started curtailed staff and workers from June 2022 with a proper plane. Around 12,000 peoples were terminated by giving sufficient compensation as per their agreements and the Shop & office rule in Sri Lanka.
Recently around 5 projects are running at this moment in my company. All are ADB (Asian Development Bank) funded projects. Normally they doing site visits with 6 month time intervals. And we have informed that they have planned to visit our project by 28th April 2023. Normally they are keen on the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) side. And the facilities provided for the labours also visited.

As they informed, today they came around 10.30 am and 19 visitors were there including 4 foreign visitors. We had not any fear on this, since we have well prepared for this. They visited site for 10 minutes and discussed about the site progress and details while doing that.

After that they were directed to the site meeting room for the refreshment. Brief discussion was there about the final project completion and about the handing over. We mentioned that we in a process to complete this project by June 2024 and they mentioned that they are very happy about that.
Finally they stated that they are very happy about project progress and the Health & Safety aspects in the projects. As a team we are happy about the outcome.
