Hotel Sigiriya

After finishing the successful adventure of Pindurangala Rock climbing, we were directed to our accommodation. This time we picked Hotel Sigiriya which belongs to Brown's Group. The first reason was its stunning view of Sigiriya Rock.

Hotel Sigiriya is located very close to Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala. It was just a 10-minute distance from both places. We were served a delicious Start Fruit drink until they finished our paperwork. The hotel crowd was almost foreigners and only a few local couples were in the picture.

Once we finished our papers we received our room. Eventhough the room itself had no view, the room was large and comfortable.

After having some rest, we decided to go to the pool as it was the right time to enjoy the stunning view of Sigiriya Rock from the pool. We spent a few minutes at Looby and enjoyed the view, and then went to the pool. That was a perfect moment of relaxation.

The pool area was surrounded by natural forest so the sound of Cricket insects was all over the place. But it never made any unrest on anyone. There were a few brown monkeys seen but it seemed no harm from them.

Spending a long time in the pool boosted our symptoms so we decided to go to our room and have a warm nap. When it's about 8.00 pm we went to the Dinner.

It was an international buffet and consisted of Western, Indian, and Sri Lankan cuisine. The food was delicious and the variation was also very good. There were a few dessert variations but still they were so tasty.

Live music was also playing and there was a barbeque as well. They had board games to play at the lobby area and we tried carrom as well

After dinner, we spent some time looking at the Hotel's night view and went to sleep.

In the morning my health was so bad but still, we went to breakfast. The breakfast relieved me to a certain extent. Around 10 am we checked out and had to go back to Dambulla town to look for a Doctor to take medicine.

After that we went to Sigiriya and we only watched the museum and the garden area as we were unable to climb the rock.
