Happy Vesak!

Today is Vesak full moon poya day. You know the importance of the day. Buddhits all around the world give an speciality for the day. As a normal ritual we make vesak lanterns, we light lamps and buckets and use various colurs of bulbs for lightening the night.

When I was a kid i used to go to temple on poya day for attending sil proggrammes. Before ending my chikdhood that habit stopped. To be honest I did nothing excepting having a fun time with peer group. Feeling of Vesak has taken a big amount of our lives when we were kids and today it's totally different. I remembered it after my mom's request to go to the town for buying tissue papers for pasting our vesak lanterns.

Well. I know this story. Um pretty sure that lord buddha knew nothing of these vesak lanterns and bulbs. Our ancient people made vesak lanterns by using bamboo sticks. Then they used a candle or a lamp to light them. After few minitues or hours the lantern got burned and it gave the oppurnity to understand what Lord buddha said. It's Anithya. No matter how beautiful, rich or high we are, we all have to die one day, like the vesak lantern.

Anyway we made these three vesak lanterns, added little bulbs to give more colour, like a ritual. Outside and the night looked so beautiful under the vesak moon.
