Kids' Movie Therapy - Shrek(2001)
It is about a kids' movie which I enjoy watching even as a girl in her twenties. Even recently I watched the whole thing, so I got reminded of it. Though it is a kids' movie I love watching it. Just looking at it without any thought make myself relaxed and feels nostalgic. And also, as I have a cousin-kid now, I watch kids' movies with her.
Shrek1 was released in 2001. That movie is older than me. Shrek 5 would be released in 2026 and 3 others were released in due time.
Shrek is a funny animated movie that kids really enjoy. It tells the story of an ogre named Shrek, who loves living alone in his swamp. But one day, his life changes when many fairy tale characters, like talking donkeys and tiny dwarfs, show up in his swamp. They were all kicked out of their homes by a bad ruler, Lord Farquaad.
Shrek agrees to help rescue Princess Fiona in exchange for getting his swamp back. Along the way, Shrek learns about friendship, love, and being true to yourself. The movie has great characters, like Donkey, who is funny and always ready to help.
The animation is colorful and the songs are catchy. Even though the movie is for kids, it also has jokes that adults can enjoy. The story teaches important lessons about accepting yourself and not judging others by their looks.
Overall, Shrek is a heartwarming movie full of laughs, fun adventures, and a positive message that everyone can enjoy.

At a time when all the kids' movies showed prince charmings and damsels in distress, Shrek came out of the box. One of the best movies!
