Friends (1994 - 2004)
I'm not gonna lie to you! This has been my comfort zone for a long time! I have watched it more than 100th times, even I can remember the lines from many scenarios. Especially in my University life, a single episode of the show was just like a stress release.
No complex/strategic scenarios, but full of humor. Six Friends moving on with their lives managing their relationships, careers; or simply living. At the end of the day, you will wish to have such kind of close circle. Maybe some people may find the show not that interesting, but if you like it once, it will be forever. That's why Friends can be considered as one of the greatest sitcoms of all time.
I like to use this as a chance to remember our friend, Matthew Perry as well! Rest in Peace, and thank you for making us happy!

It's not just the ratings/ awards, but the level of enthusiasm and entertainment bought is the massive success of the show.

As I said earlier the show is about 06 friends, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joe living in New York City. The show basically runs in a few locations throughout the 236 episodes. Monica's and Rachel's apartment, their neighboring apartment of Joe, and Chandler, Central Perk coffee shop, and Ross's home.
In a simple setting, and from a low budget, we see how their lives are evolving from their early 20s to being responsible adults. Anyhow, their close bond, love, caring, and sharing all their happy moments, and downfalls. Oo man! That's the kind of friendship anyone is looking for!
We have an incredible cast here. Their performance, and chemistry with each other are simply amazing. Each one of them is different from the other, in their personalities, career goals, etc. But the way they hold on to one another, accepting each other's traits, and understanding among each other what we should practice.
Rachel Green - Well, in the first episode she was introduced as a spoiled girl, who ran away from her wedding, and comes from a rich family. She and Monica were best friends in high school but lost their connection later. Anyway, these two ended up living together. Then Rachel started from the bottom as a waitress, and then pursued her dream in fashion, becoming independent and very successful in her career.
Monica Geller - She is strict, competitive, and obsessive with cleanliness, and being organized. She is a talented chef, trying here and there very hard, and finally becoming the head chef in a top-class restaurant. She is the hostess and the glue that keeps the group together.
Phoebe Buffay - Well, she has a very quirky, unusual personality and a great sense of humor. Coming from a very sad childhood, and living with her grandmother, she tries to live freely and happily. She works as a part-time musician and masseuse and finally settled down marrying someone she loves.
Ross Geller - He is Monica's older brother, Chandler's high school friend. He is a paleontologist with a doctorate, sometimes with a geeky personality. He is smart and very committed to love, but his love life is one of the funniest storylines in the show. Having three divorces, and two illegitimate kids, first marrying a lesbian, then saying the wrong name at the Altar, drunken marriage. 😁 Anyhow, finally his on-and-off love affair with Rachel became successful.
Chandler Bing - Well, he is the sarcastic, and humorous guy in the set. He is an office with good money, but not love it much. He has a fear of commitment and always tries to deal with things with sarcastic comments. But anyhow with her relationship with Monica, he worked hard to make things work and have a new career path as well.
- Joe Tribbiani - Well, he is good-looking, and lovable and is pursuing his career as an actor. He is obsessed with food, and girls, and has a close relationship with other friends, especially with Chandler. Mainly he had small roles, and Chandler covered his financial needs. But eventually, he became successful.
So, throughout the series, we saw their day-to-day life. They were together no matter what. On the other hand, they tried, experienced new things, and failed, but eventually moved on, and enjoyed their life. And more than that, there's humor, you can laugh as much as possible.
The show became very successful and in the final two seasons, each main actor received $1 million per episode, which was amazing at that time.
James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Elliott Gould (Jack Geller), and Christina Pickles (Judy Geller), also played significant roles in the show ad many famous actors like, Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Danny DeVito, Sean Penn, Charlie Sheen, Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Ben Stiller appeared as guests.
So, I invite you to watch this. It's amazing, simple as that!
