Donating essential food for Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital| SL-Charity Project | 10% For SL-Charity

It was only after two weeks that I found time to write on Steemit. Because with work, there is no rest these days.. So I hope everyone is fine. Today I am going to write about a story that I was thinking of writing two weeks ago. Due to lack of leisure, I could not write about it very often.

We all know that Sri Lanka is currently facing an acute economic crisis. Sri Lanka is a country where most of the middle class families live. Many people live on the monthly salary they get from doing a job. That salary is also very little for many people. Or some live on daily wages. So now the inflation in our country has risen rapidly. Every day the prices of all essentials including food are increasing. Everyone is going through a very difficult time because the monthly income of people has not increased compared to the increase in the price of goods.

Three weeks ago I saw in the news that there is a shortage of food required to meet the daily nutritional needs of the children receiving residential treatment at the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Protein is an essential thing for the children receiving treatment in that hospital. We must think about the little children in such a terrible situation.

A friend of mine posted a video on social media about that problem and the need for help. So I also felt the need to bring food to those children to meet their protein needs. As it requires a lot of money, I got the required amount through @sl-charity. First of all, I am very thankful to all the members of our community(steem sri lanka) who contributed to it.

We first called Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital and found out about the food required for their daily protein requirement. Accordingly, we decided to give them fish, Dried fish and dhal. These days the prices of food items are very high, so we spent a lot of money to buy those items.

We went to the shops in Colombo Fort to buy those food items. From those stores, we were able to buy those food items at a lower price than the normal market price. There we bought 15kg of fish, 10kg of Dried fish and 25kg of lentils.

Two days after buying the food items, we went to Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital to deliver them. Then we handed them over to a chief doctor there and left.

Finally, I would like to say thank you very much to all of you who have contributed to this in order to increase the nutritional needs of the little children who are being treated for illness in such a difficult time.
