Alright, lots of drama have been unfolded within the English team named Manchester united during the past month or so after the shameful losses to Liverpool, Man city and Watford, the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solksjær, the narrow escape against Atalanata and so on. After all these, there is now the speculation of who could replace the Norwegian boss and a lot of interesting names have been put on the table such as Pochettino(PSG coach), Zidane, Eric Ten Haag(Ajax), and even Michael Carrick. But this week, the club have come to agreement with the present Locomotiv Moscow Sporting Director, Ralph Rangnick. Sure its a not a popular name but thats because hes never coached a top side before and people wont know who he actually is. In this post im here to define him and to make him a bit known to all fans out there, yeah. So this all brings us back to the question...
Born in West Germany in 1958, Ralf Rangnick is a Professional Football manager whose best known as the godfather of the famous playing style,"total football" or as some like to call it," Gegenpressing". His managerial career has wholely been in Germany as he has coached a total of over 10 German clubs and leaving a mark in nearly all of them.
Rangnick started off his senior managerial career with his former club Ulm where he won the Regionalliga Süd. He then went on to win his second trophy, the Intertoto cup, with Stuttgart (another German side) in 2000 but qas then dismissed from the club a year later. The very next season he was appointed as manager at Hannover 96 and his first season was very successful as he took them to win Bundesliga 2 and there were promoted to the Bundesliga after being absent for about 13 years. The next season they finished 11th place but went wayward in their ways the season after and Rangnick was sacked once again. After a short spell with Schalke 04, he took charge of Hoffenheim and achieved successive promotions with the club and then later returned back to Schalke 04 in 2011 where he took them to the Champions League semifinals where thwy fell out to his present team, Manchester united and also won the DFB pokal. Rangnick then joined Leipzig and had a period of two spells with the club in 2015 and 2019. But Rangnick had more of an effect on the Red Bull Leipzig team as a Director of Sports than a coach as he joined Red bull in 2012 and helped to develop the team from there which saw their value increase from €120million to €1.2billion. In 2021, Rangnick was appointed as Sporting Director of Russian club, Locomotiv Moscow and that didnt last long as he showed interest in an interim job at united before the then current manager(Ole Solksjær) was sacked😅. He got the interim job and is now at united with a chance of being a consultant come the end of the season. He has already won his first game in charge vs crystal palace.
Manchester United were in a bit of a mess this season with the whole Solksjær saga and were in need of a good manager to try and make use of the team better than Ole did. They found a not so popular name, Ralf Rangnick and i have done my best to highlight some notable things done by the new interim boss. I hope you all like my presentation.
