Will ITALY qualify World Cup 2022

There is no doubt that Italy is still haunted by the failure to qualify for the World Cup in 2018. Now, they are even more under pressure after wining Euro 2020.
It was immediately visible after they drew with Switzerland and Bulgaria. Worse was that they were not able to score. Everyone is blaming their inability to score on the current strikers. But, they are doing fine in their respective club. Especially, Ciro Immobile who scores regularly for Lazio, but not at the international level.

Why is he not able to score regularly for the national team?

There could be two reasons for Ciro that he is not able to score regularly at international level.
The first reason is that he could be highly under pressure and lose confidence as he was not able to achieve the same form at club level.
However, it does not happen only to Ciro. Other players such as Chiesa, Berardi, Kean, Raspadori are not able to find the net either.
Therefore, there must be something else which could be another reason why Ciro and Italian forwards are not able to score.

It could be Mancini's Technique. Mancini's 4-4-3 was quite a success at Euro. But, if you are aware, the scoring power was degrading starting from the knockout stage. That means other teams are starting to realise how to defend Italian's attack.
Mancini continues to use 4-4-3 after the Euro Championship even though it is not successful any more. However, it is also not his fault. He doesn't have time to do experiment because of lack of exhibition matches in between. If not because of the UEFA Nations League, there could be a bit of a buffer for him to experiment with a new formation.

Mancini is absolutely in a tough situation. He has to take some risks by changing his formation either to 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. He has to push Chiesa and Insigne/Bernardeschi a little wider and use two strikers to open up the other team's defence. Then, there will be more space for the strikers to score. If they do not change the technique and keep pushing with 4-3-3, they will be eliminated by penalties in the play-offs.
