Manchester City welcomes fellow high-flyers West Ham United to the Etihad Stadium for a Premier League clash on Sunday, fresh off an exciting Champions League triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.
In midweek, David Moyes' side also performed admirably in foreign competition, dispatching Rapid Vienna with ease in the Europa League.

Pep Guardiola must be thanking his fortunate stars that wantaway player Bernardo Silva did not leave the club over the summer, after the Portuguese - along with teammate Joao Cancelo, thrashed PSG 2-1 in the Champions League.
Manchester City, the champions, are performing well, but West Ham has been the surprise club this season, and they will try to give City a run for their money.
Manchester City defeated PSG's players 2-1 at home in the Champions League in midweek, ensuring City's qualification for the knockout stages as group winners.

After advancing to the last-16 of the competition, City can now afford to relax off the pedal in Europe, as Guardiola's side also cruised to a 3-0 win against Everton in the Premier League last weekend, with Rodri hitting a thunderbolt.
City has maintained its pressure on leaders Chelsea,if they win today, they'll climb to their second place in the table, three points behind the European champions, while Liverpool is only one point behind the defending champions and poised to capitalize any errors.
City's win over PSG was their fourth in a row in all competitions, and their eighth in ten home matches, and West Ham face an uphill task to become the Premier League's second team to score against City this season.

Even with Moyes changing his resources on a regular basis, an ever-impressive West Ham have mainly brushed past the competition in the Europa League this year, with Mark Noble and Andriy Yarmolenko both scoring in a straightforward 2-0 victory against Rapid Vienna in midweek.
The Hammers head into Sunday's game having qualified for the last 16 of Europe's secondary competition, but there was little to cheer about in their most recent Premier League encounter, Wolverhampton Wanderers won 1-0 at Molineux thanks to Raul Jimenez's goal.
West Ham are firmly in contention for a Champions League position despite losing ground to the teams above them, occupying fourth place in the rankings, although Arsenal might draw level on points with their London counterparts this weekend.

West Ham's defeat against Wolves stopped a four-game winning streak in the Premier League, marking the first time they had lost a Premier League game away from home since April, and the capital club had not beaten the defending champions away from home since overcoming Manchester United in 2001.
The Hammers have already taken a famous scalp over City this season, ending their perennial reign of domination in the EFL Cup via a penalty shootout, but they have lost all 11 Premier League meetings with City since a 2-1 Etihad victory in September 2015.

Team News

City will be concerned about the fitness of both Jack Grealish and Phil Foden, with the former still recovering from an injury and his compatriot missing the triumph against PSG owing to an undisclosed problem.
Kevin De Bruyne is unlikely to return from his coronavirus infection any time soon, while Ferran Torres is out indefinitely, so Jesus will be hoping for a call-up after assisting on both of his team's goals in midweek.
Aymeric Laporte will also be vying for a starting spot in the backline over John Stones, while Cole Palmer started from the start against Everton but may struggle to keep his spot this week.

In terms of West Ham, Moyes' sole concern at the moment is long-term victim Angelo Ogbonna, as the Scot prepares to reintroduce all of his big-hitters to the first XI, starting with Lukasz Fabianski replacing Alphonse Areola in goal.
Declan Rice will replace Mark Noble in the engine room alongside Tomas Soucek, while Ben Johnson, Kurt Zouma, and Aaron Cresswell will start in defense.
Michail Antonio was given a full week off in midweek as he prepares to reunite with Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma, and Jarrod Bowen in the customary attacking line.

My Score Prediction.

On home turf, even a first-choice City defense will struggle to stop Moyes's brilliant attackers, and injuries to the hosts could give the visitors confidence in their chances of pulling off a surprise victory.

The champions' established stars will undoubtedly have the freshest legs on the pitch, but City's goal threats in all areas of the play should enable them get over the line.

Manchester City 3-1 West Ham United.
