Sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: A Crime Not Worth Committing
Manchester United have been struggling for form and consistency this season despite a mouthwatering summer transfer.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Rafael Varane-three names signed in to help take Manchester United to where it belong.
At first, everything worked out fine with wins against Leeds United and Newcastle United at the Theater of Dreams. Ronaldo's return added spice to the already smoking Manchester United side.
However, in recent matches, aspersions have been cast on the future of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and what he brings to the table.
Enters the question: is sacking him the key?
Flashback to when legendary Sir Alexander Ferguson left Manchester United, David Moyes was hired, we all thought this is it, but desperation made us sack him without a second choice. Majority of the fans believed that he did not have the technical know-how to handle a title-winning side like Manchester United.
So "tactics" made Manchester United sack David Moyes? Here comes the tactical one: Louis Van Gaal. He came in with loads of fanfare from a successful world cup outing with the Netherlands. He had his philosophy which was keeping the ball on the ground rolling; he allowed big names to leave because "they were old"; scattered everything and left United disunited. He won the FA cup, actually.
"The special one" Jose Mourinho came in. Won trophies but the playing style and dressing room did not represent what Manchester United stand for. He left with everything in total collapse.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought in something different: he has steadied the sinking ship; brought in new and talented players; the belief and smiles are back on the faces of United board. He finished second in his second season; this is the third season and we are still in it. Is sacking him the best option? No.
If a new manager comes in, he will need to start over. It worked for Chelsea doesn't mean it will work for others. Give him time to build.
The likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Amad Diallo, and Jadon Sancho are still young and will only grow in understanding if Solskjaer is allowed to nurture them. A new coach could come in and choose not to stick with kids thereby getting instant success but returning to the default.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might not be winning Trophies but he is not far behind.
I think he should be sacked. He has done very well but I think he cant take United to the promise land.
