Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 6 - Week 1: Tips for doing Steem promos.

Welcome to my fifth entry in this week's engagement challenge. According to the engagement rule, everyone is supposed to enter one contest daily. Today is the fifth day of the engagement challenge hence I'm presenting my 5th entry as well.

I'm particularly happy for the management of this community for being part of this season's engagement challenge. With this very unique topic, it is obvious that this community is quite prepared to give us their best in the engagement challenge. The topic of discussion today is "Tips for doing Steem promos" and I will be sharing with you all my experience. Let's get started.

Based on the said contest, I decided to do it in a very special way. I have always told people about the steemit platform and today is no exception. To promote the steemit platform and the steem token effectively, I decided to go on my branded T-shirt that carries the steemit logo.

On this day, I decided to talk to a friend in depth about how the platform works and what the platform is all about. As I have said earlier, before this time I have always told people about the platform but only very few picks are interested in that regard.

So I decided to do one to one talk with a friend of mine today to clearly explain the entire system. It took me a little time to explain how the platform works because this friend of mine has no idea about blockchain technology and how the technology operates. I had to start from the basics down to how the platform works and where the resources come from as well.

As suggested by the above contest, I have also taken a picture to prove that this promotion activity was done by me and that the said friend of mine was also very happy because she has learnt a lot from my explanation. I was supposed to create an account for her but because of the lack of a smartphone which will aid her to effectively blog, we couldn't proceed.

From the explanation I have made to her so far, she is already willing to become a steemian and has promised to purchase her smartphone at the end of the month to join the big family by the first week of December or early January.

As I have said earlier, introducing the platform was not too easy because she has no idea about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Seeing the branded T-shirt I wore today also gave me aid to guide her because she particularly picked more interest when I told her that I have connections with people from all over the world via the platform.

I went ahead to show her my chat with a few of the people I have worked with as a community curator and as moderator. She was amazed and said so I have access to talk to people from other countries and I said yes. This made her pick more interest because she dreams that one day getting a scholarship to study outside the country as well.

I further told her that at the moment, if I should visit a few of these countries like Cameroon, Ghana, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia or even India today, I will have people I can communicate with that will be pleased to see me too. I told her that if she wishes to see other places outside Nigeria, the best way is to go through the steemit platform because you can find sincere people here who can assist you achieve your dream.

Without an iota of doubt, you will agree with me that she was quite pleased with the information she got about the steemit platform. She has also pleaded with me to always come around and educate her more about cryptocurrency and the steem blockchain until she can get her smartphone.

After sharing with her some world smile projects, she became even more interested in the platform because I told her that even right here in Nigeria we have an ongoing project called the smile Nigeria project which is a solar project because of the issues of electricity. At first, she saw all the information as too real to be true but after showing her a few pieces of evidence, she believes more in steem and the steemit platform and wishes to be part of the family.

A lot of people don't yet understand the steemit platform and I notice that today. Most of these people have no idea about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Ignorance is the only problem my people here are having and at this point, I'm searching for a better approach to get them informed about the steemit platform. A lot of people see steemit as a place too real to be true I.e they don't believe that such a platform exists. I want to finally invite a few friends, to also join the contest @chiabertrand, @harferri, @lavanyalakshman and @inspiracion to join the contest.
