SEC-S15W2 | "Beware of Bullying"
INTRODUCTION
Bullying is the Process of maltreatment, abusing, harassing and intimidating any individual that is vulnerable and cannot stand up to his or her self. It could be physical Abuse or Verbal Abuse.
This is a very crucial topic on Bullying brought to us by Steem Indonesia and i will be sharing my opinion with you Bellow.

I have received Bullying before especially in my primary and secondary school since i attended boarding house...
Bullying nowadays is becoming alarming especially with children in boarding school and the society who cannot stand up and defend themselves.
I have been physically and Verbally abused in my primary and secondary school.
I started boarding house from primary school and i was physically abused to the extent i thought of committing suicide, to the extent my parents removed me from the school.
First instance was hung up on a tree by the senior students and beating without mercy ,
Second instance they held me and tried pushing me into a well filled up with water if i don't accept to stealing what i didn't steal. i had no choice than to accept to the crime.
Another instance in secondary school my Elder Cousin asked me to open my mouth and she put a cloth inside my mouth and slapped me on my face to the extent i had a red mark like blood cloth in my eyes.
The last instance that happened in primary school that till this moment i haven't told my mom or anyone except my fiance was when i was raped by this senior students who constantly found pleasure in doing that to me all the time and threatened to deny if i reported saying that no one will believe me.
I have lived with the trauma all my life up till this moment fighting it alone because i couldn't open to any one....
Most of the time senior students will bully me Verbally saying am no good for nothing, i will never amount to anything which killed my zeal and made me feel inferior.
How do you equip your children to avoid bullying either at school or in their social environment. |

The best solution for me to equip my children to avoid them from being bullied is to engage them in meaningful conversation, interact with them everyday by asking them what happens to them and around them especially in schools and with other students.
If i had a strong bond with my parents at that time i would have been able to tell them the things that happened to me but because i was threatened I felt scared and couldn't talk of which if parents can seat and talk with their children they might just open up.
Encourage them to report and speak up incase of anytime they are bullied.

Before i give my opinion i will like to explain the meaning of the term Physical, Verbal and Cyber Bullying.
PHYSICAL BULLYING
This is the act of beating a child, or punishing a child just because he or she is vulnerable and can't defend himself or herself.
VERBAL BULLYING
this is the use of abusive or condemning words on a child or individual that makes them inferior
CYBER BULLYING
This is the act of sending threats, posting and sharing harmful messages to an individual via text messages, Whatsapp and others.
In other to overcome Bullying i advice victims to speak up and report to higher Authorities that will take action rather than remain silent.
Walk with people that can defend you from those that bully you.
Be bold enough to confront them, by showing them you are not scared of them.
Bullying is very common especially in schools and the society amongst teenagers and the only way to overcome is to speak up.

Creating strong bond with your children through friendly communication can anable them open up to you about any issue bothering them. Bullying might just be the case .
As you said,"Engaging them in meaningful conversation and interacting with them".It will allow them to give out every information about their social life.

Bullying has always been a despicable act. No one deserves to be bullied.
This is very sad and touching, I am sorry you had to go through all this and I hope you get to heal from it. You are strong, you amount to everything good and no one can stop you. I want you to believe in yourself, see yourself as you want to be seen. I wish you the best in the Challenge.
