Heute erzähle ich endlich von unserem Goldwaschtreffen im Sommer 2022 in Kärnten.
Ich hatte ja schon einige Berichte über meinen 1-wöchigen Aufenthalt in Österreich geschrieben. Jetzt ist das Wochenende dran, an dem das Treffen stattfand. Zu dem Treffen kommen immer sehr viele aus den unterschiedlichsten Ländern. Viele andere Goldschürfer aus Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz, sogar 2 aus Italien waren angekündigt.

Today I finally tell you about our Goldwaschtreffen in summer 2022 in Carinthia.
I had already written
some reports about my 1-week
stay in Austria. Now it's the turn of the weekend when the meeting took place.
To the meeting always very many from the most different countries come.
Many other gold prospectors
from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, even 2 from Italy were announced.
Freitag war der geplante Anreisetag, da ich mich ja schon was länger in der Ecke aufhielt, war es für mich kein Problem die kurze Strecke über den Großglockner Pass zu nehmen, um rechtzeitig in Kärnten zu sein. Von Bad Hofgastein rüber nach Kärnten dauert über den Pass nicht mehr wie eine Stunde, wenn man sich Zeit lässt. Da ich sehr früh in Kärnten war, hatte ich noch massig Zeit mein Hotelzimmer zu beziehen. Des Weiteren habe mir noch einen kleinen Bach in unmittelbarer nahe zum Campingplatz anschauen, bevor ich mich zu den anderen auf den Platz gesellte. Und ich musste nicht lange suchen, denn die Aufbauten, die Tobi, unser Veranstalter jedes Mal mitbringt, sind nicht zu übersehen. Jedes Jahr werden wir größer und so hat sich Tobi gedacht, er baut ein Festzelt mit einigen Campingbänken und Tischen auf, sodass genug Platz für alle war, die kommen wollten.
Friday was the planned arrival day, since I was already a little longer in the corner, it was no problem for me to take the short route over the Grossglockner Pass to be in Carinthia in time.
From Bad Hofgastein over to Carinthia takes over the pass no more than an hour,
if you take your time. Since I was very early in Carinthia,
I still had plenty of time to move into my hotel room.
Furthermore, I still have a small stream in the immediate vicinity of the campsite look at,
before I joined the others on the site.
And I didn't have to look for long, because the setups that Tobi, our organizer brings every time, can't be overlooked. Every year we get bigger and so Tobi thought he would set up a marquee with some camping benches and tables so there was enough room for everyone who wanted to come.
Da ich so früh da war, musste ich mich noch etwas gedulden, bis meine engsten Freunde eintrafen. Zuerst kam Chris mit Tanja und brachte den Heimo mit, den ich bis dahin nicht kannte. Ich habe mich schnell mit Heimo angefreundet und wir haben viel über die Goldsuche gesprochen. Was sehr cool war, denn er macht das schon seit über 40 Jahren und hatte viel zu erzählen.
Irgendwann kam dann Ronny um die Ecke und baute sein neues Autozelt auf und nach einem kurzen Hallo an alle wollte er gleich los.
Since I was there so early, I had to be patient until my closest friends arrived.
First Chris came with Tanja and brought Heimo, whom I didn't know until then. I quickly made friends with Heimo and we talked a lot about gold prospecting.
Which was very cool, because he's been doing it for over 40 years and had a lot to talk about.
At some point Ronny came around the corner and set up his new car tent and after a quick hello to everyone he wanted to go right away.
Ich ließ mich überreden und zog mich schnell um, bevor wir einen Nebenbach prospektieren gingen.
Robert wollte auch schon etwas schürfen und ging ohne groß zu überlegen einfach mit uns.
Wir haben dann gute 2 Stunden prospektiert, aber leider haben wir alle kein Gold gefunden.
Kurz bevor es dunkel wurde, sind wir dann zurück zu den anderen. Mittlerweile sind noch einige andere angekommen und alle haben im Partyzelt gesessen, gemütlich geplaudert und gefeiert. Der Abend war super toll, wie immer wurde es spät, bis wir alle nach und nach ins Bett gingen. Ich bin so gegen halb 2 dann zu meiner Unterkunft und ich bin auch direkt ins Bett gefallen.
I let myself be persuaded and changed quickly before we went prospecting a side stream.
Robert also wanted to prospect a bit and just went with us without much thought.
We then prospected for a good 2 hours, but unfortunately we all failed to find any gold.
Shortly before it got dark, we went back to the others. In the meantime, some others arrived and everyone sat in the party tent, chatted comfortably and celebrated.
The evening was super great, as always it was late, until we all went to bed one by one.
I went to my accommodation around half past two and I also fell straight into bed.
Am nächsten Tag klingelte um 7 Uhr mein Wecker. Im ersten Moment wollte ich im Bett bleiben, ich war noch richtig müde, aber der Mündigkeit war nach kurzer Zeit weg und die Freude am Schürfen kam hoch. Ich machte mich fertig, frühstückte schnell und fuhr dann direkt zu den anderen. Dort angekommen musste ich mir wie jedes Jahr mal wieder anhören, dass alle nur auf mich warten. Außer Ronny, der pennte noch.
Nachdem ich ihn dann unsanft aus dem Schlaf, gerissen hatte, wollte er sich erstmal in Ruhe einen rauchen, bevor wir dann auch mal langsam Richtung Wasser gegangen sind.
Wir haben uns diesmal leider alle sehr weit verteilt, dadurch kam ein richtiges Miteinander am Bach nicht auf. Ich hatte mir Anfangs auch eine Stelle gesucht, die was weiter weg war. Doch nach gut 3 Stunden ohne Erfolg bin ich dann zu Tanja, Chris und Heimo gegangen. Und siehe da, bei denen lief es deutlich besser.
The next day my alarm clock rang at 7 o'clock.
In the first moment I wanted to stay in bed, I was still really tired,
but the tiredness was gone after a short time and the joy of digging came up.
I got ready, had a quick breakfast and then went straight to the others.
Arrived there I had to listen
to me like every year once again that all only wait for me. Except Ronny, who was still sleeping.
After I had torn him then rudely
from sleep, he wanted to smoke himself only once in peace, before we went then also times slowly towards the water.
We have distributed ourselves this time unfortunately all very far, so a real togetherness at the stream did not arise.
I had initially also looked for a place that was what further away.
But after a good 3 hours without success I went to Tanja, Chris and Heimo. And see there, with those it ran clearly better.
Ich hab mir dann in der Nähe eine Stelle ausgesucht und dort mein Glück versucht.
Doch nach weiteren 3 Stunden war immer noch leere in meiner Pfanne, nicht ein Krümel Gold.
Mittlerweile war auch Fernando eingetroffen und wir haben weiter meine Stelle bearbeitet, doch auch zu 2 war dort nicht zu holen.
I then chose a place nearby and tried my luck there.
But after another 3 hours was
still empty in my pan, not a crumb of gold.
In the meantime Fernando had
also arrived and we continued
to work on my spot,
but even to 2 was not
to get there.
Komischerweise lief es bei den anderen 3 unglaublich gut und wir waren grade mal 2 Meter von ihnen weg. Thorsten und Tobi kamen noch dazu und haben links von den 3 angefangen zu schürfen.
Doch auch sie hatten kein Glück. Langsam wurde es mir zu doof und ich beschloss einzupacken und mit Fernando und Ronny noch einen Gebirgsbach zu testen.
Wir haben zu 3, angefühlt 20 Stellen Proben genommen und ausgewaschen. Doch auch hier kein Gold.😡Langsam fiel die Laune von allen.
Wir beschlossen zu den anderen zurückzugehen und an dem Loch weiterzuarbeiten, was wir schon hatten dort. Langsam wurde es dunkler und die meisten gingen zum Campingplatz zurück. Plötzlich meinte Heimo laut, hier haben wir ja doch noch was Großes gefunden und zeigte ein richtig schönes Nugget.
Alle waren überrascht und vollkommen verwundert, den außer den 3 hat niemand was gefunden.
Wir haben es jedoch alle gefeiert und den beiden zum Fund Glück gratuliert, auch wenn einige glauben, dass der Heimo es aus seiner Tasche reingesteckt hat.
Nach kurzer Zeit war es aber kein Thema mehr und alle haben das Nugget abgefeiert, Fotos wurden gemacht und anschließend hat es Tanja gut aufbewahrt.
Strangely enough, the other 3
were doing incredibly well
and we were just 2 meters away from them.
Thorsten and Tobi joined us
and started digging to the left
of the 3.
But also they had no luck.
Slowly it became too stupid for
me and I decided to pack up
and test a mountain stream with Fernando and Ronny.
We have taken to 3, felt 20 places samples and washed out.
But also here no gold.😡Slowly fell the mood of all.
We decided to go back to the others and continue to work on the hole, which we already had there.
Slowly it became darker and
most went back to the campsite.
Suddenly Heimo said loudly,
here we have found something
big after all and showed a really nice nugget.
All were surprised and completely
amazed, except for the 3 no one has found what.
We celebrated it however all
and congratulated the two to the find luck, even if some
believe that the Heimo has put it in from his pocket.
After a short time, however,
it was no longer an issue and everyone celebrated the nugget, photos were taken and then Tanja kept it well.
Ich bin dann eben schnell zu meiner Unterkunft, hab geduscht und mich umgezogen, um den Rest des Abends im Partyzelt mit den anderen den nicht so erfolgreichen Tag ausklingen zu lassen.
Wieder ging es sehr lange, zwischendurch kam der Peter noch mit einigen tollen Bieren um die Ecke.
Wovon ich mir auch eins schnappte und sogar auch schon ein Bericht darüber geschrieben hab. Viele tolle Geschichten und Goldfunde wurde gezeigt und der Abend hat den Tag einfach nochmal richtig klasse werden lassen. Trotzdem war ich froh, als ich so gegen 4 Uhr in meinem warmen Hotelbett einschlief.

to let the not so successful day come to an end.
Again it went very long,
in between Peter came with
some great beers around the corner.
Of which I also grabbed one and even wrote a report about it.
Many great stories and gold
finds were shown and the
evening just made the day really
great again.
Nevertheless I was glad when I fell asleep around 4 o'clock in my warm hotel bed.
Am nächsten Morgen habe ich mich dann nur noch von allen verabschiedet. Den alle bis auf Fernando und ich sind abgereist. Wir 2 hatten noch 2 Tage mehr, die wir jedoch in der Kitzlochklamm verbracht haben.

The next morning I just
said goodbye to everyone.
All except Fernando and me left.
The 2 of us had 2 more days,
but we spent them in the Kitzlochklamm.

Hallo Elfe danke dir, ja war ein mühsames Goldsuchen beim Treffen, aber da gehts eher um die Gemeinschaft. Gold gab es am Ende ja trotzdem noch.
