RE: ❓Steemit Quiz 2025 - Week 6

in NO Community7 days ago

Quick question - those brilliant autovotes that you've set up... they worked wonders yesterday. I'm in the process of coding mine now. Will yours always be running? I'm trying to determine what percentage mine need to be set at.

Sort:

Yeah, I think they'll probably be running for as long as the problem remains. One caveat is that my voting power fluctuates a lot, so the total value may not be very predictable.

It's a shame we have to go through this. I'm fairly sure that Steemit knows who the underlying delegator is. You'd think they (or the abuse watchers) could contact him and get the delegations withdrawn from the 4 recipient accounts that are causing varying degrees of problems. Even if he's not a Steem supporter any more, that sort of a delegation activity is not a good look for a professional in the blockchain space.

That's cool - same here. When I followed your votes yesterday, I needed about 60% to zero them out. Was yesterday a "high" or "low" power day for you?

Absolutely. This problem should have been resolved 5 years ago. It shouldn't need people like us to get involved.

It'll be interesting if they do!

@steemcurator01 / @steemcurator02 - We're trying to deal with the age old problem of steemcleaners (et al.) and their farming. @remlaps thinks that somebody in TRON will know @ arhag - the user whose delegations are being abused to the detriment of the Steemit platform. These delegations are now also being used to downvote my account - which I can live with because I'm happily downvoting the person who is downvoting me to zero.

To the point - could you please contact anybody within TRON who might know the user arhag and request that they cancel all of their delegations? If they want to put their delegations to better effect, they can of course delegate to me or another honest user instead 🙂

Please let me know if you get anywhere with this.

Sorry, none of the current team know who is behind the @arhag account.

Maybe some of the older witnesses might know.

Thank you - I'll ask them.

I've tracked him down on GitHub, Twitter and his company on YouTube so I'm just hoping now that the message gets through and he's still got the keys to the account!

In the mean time, I'll just have to smile at each downvote that comes through 😆

FWIW, I'm fairly sure that he has a github account with the same name.

Yesterday was probably a moderately high "power" day. I think the accounts were probably in the 80-90% ranges.

Another note - it's not worth you wasting 100% upvotes on me. They'll get downvoted either way so you might as well save them for somebody else (or for your outgoing downvotes).

Yeah, I know. Just a habit. ;-)

I reckon a 1% vote might be worthwhile 😉

My power's currently quite low. We'll have 9 votes whilst I sleep.

I've written a GitHub comment and tagged him. I don't expect a response but it's worth a try.

My script is running. I just did a proof of concept with @el-gorila and was surprised to see that there isn't the 3 second rule between votes when running a script.
