Good day everyone today I will be sharing my steemit journey using this contest by @steem.ville . I must say this is an interesting topic as almost everyone has a story to tell about how they joined, some by mentors, by research, others by accident.

My journey to the steemit platform is really a funny one because everything was more a coincidence than any other thing.

Steemit is a platform that has improved a lot of areas in my life both academically, socially and financially.

Before joining this platform, my country was just coming to terms with the effect of COVID19 the year before so a lot of things generally weren't stable yet, so it was a time of much uncertainty.

I had been hearing a lot about cryptocurrencies for years back but had no interest in it. So late last year a friend came visiting and explained a few things to me.

This was what rekindled my interest again in the crypto world, he forwarded some WhatsApp group links to me where cryptocurrencies trade were discussed. And that was probably the beginning because without joining the group there would have been no link to steemit.

Joining Steemit

During one of the discussions someone dropped a link to another WhatsApp group saying he wanted to teach interested people about a site called steemit.

I clicked the link and joined the group with no expectations, all thought was that no knowledge was lost and what was there to even loose.

So I joined the tutorial hosted by the able admin of campusconnect community in the person of @whitestallion. And he took his time over the following weeks to explain and answer questions regarding steemit.

I must say his patience was one thing that helped along the way because i made a lot of mistakes during the initial stages. But after the first week I was already very familiar with the platform interface.

What's interesting is that this was done with no intended reward from us the newbies then. And ever since registering i have not looked back.

Steemit is an all inclusive platform and the fact that it teaches a lot that positively affects our daily lives is simply a plus.. Naturally some people are filled with ideas but for some reason or the other they are not expressive enough, writing on steemit has done a lot to improve this for me.

Then there's investment, Power ups has been a beneficial interface bridging spending and saving. This is an aspect that I would say I have improved as well when I initially joined I thought it was a platform to make fast cash and get out.

Over time I realized that the possibilities for improvement were endless, I joined a Graphic designs class some time ago and I can boldly say it was one turning point since so far my abilities in that area has greatly improved.

There came a time that i abandoned my account and was focused on other things but i kept getting updates via the WhatsApp group I mentioned earlier and realized that there was a lot I was really missing. It wasn't much of a decision to come back and continue what I had started.

My advice to others who are just joining up or who have not been very active is to let patience lead and they'll see all the advantages that steemit has to add to their lives as well.

Thanks to @steem.ville for hosting this contest as it has taken me back through memory lane of how far I've come and how far I still have to go. Making this post is a reminder for me to strengthen my resolve in improving myself by all means with the aid of Steemit.
