A Walk Through the Forest

These photos were taken around March 2020, just before the pandemic started, during a walk with my friend and his dog through the forests of Puntagorda, on the island of La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.

I just had a new phone that takes fantastic photos that hides the fact that I'm not a great photographer (though I'm trying my best). These are the first photos I took with that phone, which is why they had a watermark I only noticed once I got home and I uploaded the photos to my PC. I was so disappointed, but I still like them, and they bring memories of a time before the dark times (as I call these Covid-19 times).

The forests in the north of the island are mostly populated by Canarian pine trees, but they hide some unexpected fruit trees and other surprises.

One of those surprises was a van completely surrounded by bushes, tall flower plants, and other greenery. I had no idea how it got there, since there was no path, no barren land where it could have driven there. It could have been abandoned a long time ago, before all the surrounding vegetation grew, but it didn't look old at all. We thought it was unusual.

We also enjoyed the sight of the almond trees, some of them in bloom (I'll post those photos later, as they're still on my phone), and some of them already had almonds, but they were still growing, and they were not ready to be picked up yet.

I tried to take a closer shot of the almonds, but it was hard as there was a lot of vegetation growing right in front of the tree. The photo below is as close as I could get using the zoom.
