Steemit Learning Challenge-S22W3: Physical Therapy Intervention: Trigger Finger
Hello friends I hope you are great today I am going to take part in Steemit Learning Challenge-S22W3: Physical Therapy Intervention: Trigger Finger.
The trigger finger most commonly called stenosis tenosynovitis it's a disorder situation which may effect the fingers and resultantly provoking pain, stiffness and also the reason of less movement.
Hence in simple words trigger finger" may also known to the motion of "catching" such as trigger on a gun. The area which is mostly affected is the finger and thumbs.
Here I will discuss the stages of trigger fingers.
Stage 1: acute stage
It's characterized by pain and inflammation and there is observation of stiffness in affected areas.
Passively the mobility is reduced as the conditions got adverse.
Stage 2: subacute stage this stage is subacute as there is appearances of nodule formation which becomes the tendon to lock.
Stage 3: chronic stage as the name refers it's adverse conditions as the thickness of tendon is observed and mobility of affected area is there.
Stage 4: advanced stage in this case the affected area especially finger stuck in position and couldn't bend. There is severe pain and significant reduction in mobility.
What are the causes:
One of the major cause of trigger finger is the inflammation that is the irritation in the tendon sheath which is around the tendon and become swell and inflammation is there.
If there is production of small nodules on the region of tendon obviously it become the source to lock the region while trying to bend or straight the singer
For over the people which are involving in the job of typing they are more repeatedly using the finger regions it become the source of trigger finger due to which pain and inflammation.
What are the Symptoms:
The major symptoms is the painful area in finger and in thumb while we wanted to do bending or straightening.
There is snapped situations occurring as we try to straighten or bending the fingers.
Moreover the stiffness of muscle is also observed in finger or thumb region.
Hence locking conditions is also noticeable and it required the need of power to straighten it.
Few diagnosis are as follows.
Patient history is matters to diagnosis of trigger finger.
The other method is pain check either how much intensive is there.
Hence objectives test are useful to check movements and positions. Range of motion is also used to check the active or passive movement. Muscle strength is also known to check the trigger finger.
Few physiotherapy tests are used which are as follows.
Trigger finger test: it's effective to check locks or trigger effects.
Finkelstein's test: it's used to check Evaluates for De Quervain's tenosynovitis.
Tinel's sign: used to check nerve compression.
Movement Analysis it's useful for checking hand or finger movements.
Posture and Ergonomic Assessment to rule our the posture during working Hours.

Thank you dear friend @ashkhan for giving us opportunity to assess the trigger finger at home. I found it affective.
I would like to invite my friends @m-fdo, @jannat12 and @mdkamran99 to take part in the challenge.
Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.
Observations
Task 1 (2.8/3)
You have shared a great knowledge about trigger finger, its symptoms, causes and it's stages. It would be better to add the name written in the lesson post. I appreciate your effort.
Task 2 (2.6/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing physical examination, history taking, special tests but didn't add the investigations. Great.
Task 3 (4/4)
You try the finger extensor strengthening, finger joint massage, tendon glides. You did the finger joint massage stretches, tendon glides and finger flexor strengthening correctly. Always remember to apply heat pack in chronic condition and ice pack in acute condition before performing exercises to relax the muscles and reduce stiffness. I appreciate your efforts.
Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from trigger finger or any type of finger issue. Thank you.
