Hello My Steemain Friends ,

Today I am writing about an interesting Steemit Engagement Challenge S21 - W5: which is all time my favourite topic “Physical Therapy Intervention: Plantar Fasciitis" this amazing challenge organised by @ashkhan . So, in this post I am going to share my point of view about this topic.
What's Plantar Fasciitis? Write in your own words after getting knowledge from the lesson post |

Plantar facilities is a type of foot disease in which a person feels extreme pain in the lower part of the feet at the place of the heels. Sometimes this pain becomes so severe that it is not possible to keep the feet on the ground. This type of pain is caused by the plantar fasciitis tissue, which connects the heel bones with the toes. This type of pain is more in the heels because only the part of the heel of the feet touches the ground directly.
Causes of Plantar Fasciitis:
Weight gain
Sometimes this pain also occurs due to increase in body weight, because the entire weight of the body comes on the heels.
Excessive walking
Many people who have a lot of walking work also often complain of pain in the heels.
Not choosing the right footwear
Sometimes people do not choose comfortable footwear and due to this also they have to go through this type of pain. Women can also face this type of problem if they walk for a long time wearing heels.
Medical conditions
Sometimes, such diseases arise even after having some disease. Like arthritis, bone disease etc.
Symptoms
Feeling a burning sensation in the soles of the feet.
Swelling in the ankles or feet.
Difficulty in walking.
Stiffness in the soles of the feet.
How would you diagnose a plantar fasciitis? Any clinical investigation or assessment tests? |

Sometimes internal pain causes a lot of pain and ignoring it can also increase the disease. Because plantar fasciitis is a pain in the ankles and the weight of the whole body rests on the feet, on the ankles. Therefore, it is very important to treat it soon, because by ignoring it we can increase other pains as well. Sometimes, due to increased uric acid, symptoms like pain, swelling, redness are seen in the ankles.
Treatment of plantar fasciitis
Taking painkiller pills.
Massage with lukewarm oil.
Put the feet in hot water with rock salt and apply heat. Do exercise.
Choose suitable footwear for the feet.
Nowadays many types of slippers have come, in which your acupressure is on the feet and many types of bandages have also come, which you can wear on the heels. So that you get relief, many people wear very tight slippers, which cause pain in the heels.
If the person does not get relief even after these few home remedies, then it is very important to consult a doctor. So that the disease does not increase. The person gets relief immediately.
An orthopedic specialist should be consulted in such a problem. Then he can find out the symptoms of pain by getting X-ray, MRI, whatever he deems appropriate, done and can give the right treatment.
Dr. Orthopedics helps in getting relief from pain by telling medicines, oil and various types of exercise, therapy.
Try to practice at least 3 exercises that you have learned from the lesson. Share images, gifs or videos while practising |

Heel Lifting Exercise
In doing this type of exercise, we have to stand on our toes in such a way that our heels rise upwards, by doing this up and down for some time, our heels get a lot of relief and can also get relief from pain. Through this type of exercise, the calves of the feet also get stretched which provides relief from pain.
Rolling a frozen bottle
Rolling any ball or frozen bottle gives a lot of relief from foot pain because it provides heat to the feet which keeps on reducing the swelling and if it is a round thing, then it can be easily adjusted in the soles. Because if we want to roll the feet on any flat thing, then due to its angles, it will not touch every part of our soles. That is why we use round things for sole exercise.
Finger Moving Exercises
When there is pain in our soles, then moving the thumb and fingers in a circular motion stretches the nerves, which gives a lot of relief.
Finger exercises give a lot of relief when there is pain.
Share your review after performing these exercises either on yourself, healthy individual or patient |

When the body is healthy, everything feels good and if there is even a little pain in any part of the body, then your attention will always be on it and then you will not be able to do any work with concentration. I also had a lot of pain in my heels some time back. It felt like the soles were burning, there was swelling too, I could not put my feet on the ground, so at that time I used to move my fingers in a circular motion so that I could get relief from the pain, so this exercise gives a good effect.
If there is pain in the feet, all the work of the person is related to walking, then a lot of difficulty is felt. When I had pain in my ankles and I did not get relief from any remedy, I went to the doctor. He gave me anti-swelling medicine and also prescribed me several painkillers, which gave me a lot of relief. I still did exercises etc. Today I do not have any kind of pain in my legs.
**I want to invite my friends to take part in this contest: , @drhira , @radjasalman , @wirngo , @ruthjoe **"
Thankyou 🙏
Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.
Observations
Task 1 (2.6/3)
You have shared a great knowledge about plantar fasciitis, it's symptoms, causes, but you didn't add it's types. I appreciate your effort.
Task 2 (2.7/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing physical examination and history taking, performing investigations but you didn't mention specialized tests. It would be better if you add special tests like windlass test, big toe extension, ankle dorsiflexion test and many more. Great.
Task 3 (3.5/4)
You try the toe curls, bottle rolling and heel raise. You did the bottle rolling correctly. But in heel raise try to put all weight on toes and in toe curls you have curls the toes first and then perform extension of them. Always remember to cold therapy & rest is the best therapy in the treatment of plantar fasciitis. I appreciate your efforts.
Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from plantar fasciitis or any type of heel pain. Thank you.
