Contest: The Debate (Week 47); IS HOME WORK NECESSARY FOR LEARNING?

Homework has a fairly contextual and specific character in various contexts in various countries because over time, society uses homework as a means to feel connected and not dirty. Teachers provide student training awards regarding lessons in homework driver schools. Although many people state that homework is never really necessary for learning, there are still some individuals who regret it. There are also several opinions on the benefits of homework, such as its effectiveness, its shared input, and its results, both at the individual student level and based on the impact on their lives.

✅Do you think homework helps you remember what you learned in school?

The homework system is considered a repetition tool that allows students to remember the material that has been used in school. When students do homework at home, they are required to keep thinking about what has been taught so that their understanding ability is more optimal. On the other hand, it can be an effective tool in achieving higher quality learning, but among them, it requires adjustments to the different social contexts between classes with students who have different educational abilities. There are also students who are members who are really satisfied to be enthusiastic about applying the required scientific concepts, so that they do not have the motivation that will combine the continuation of difficult tasks to understand. Does it really help homework? Are daily tasks relevant to student tasks?

✅How do you feel when you have a lot of homework?

Students do support and feel the impact of this homework principle in the curriculum, but focus still needs to be improved with better time in the world of education to deal with stress and feel limited time. I don't know how important student life balance is, but I accept that existing homework can interfere with students' understanding on the positive side and may potentially cause its interference with students' health negatively. Improving student performance means having to establish a deeper study schedule in knowledge considering the development of positive values from children, as well as improving the method of measuring its benefits. Not only that, students also have a relative interest in terms of knowledge about aspects related to their own emotions and well-being.

✅Can you think of ways homework could be made more useful or enjoyable?

Often, people believe that the freedom of presenting real-life reality is the key to increasing the effectiveness of homework. Some examples of this include giving math assignments that are only limited to calculation problems as the main question, but involve mathematical concepts through practice such as an event project. Both are given mathematical principles in real situations such as the costs involved, so that the homework includes a mathematical concept project. Reducing the use of technology and mass media policies involve the right approach in creating students who show more interest and curiosity in learning homework through video-based assignments and learning applications. By giving children the choice of more interesting assignments based on their interests, homework will feel more personal and interesting.
