Name of Item : Cake (Mera Pitha)
Today I will be sharing one of our traditional cake or pie recipe which is simply awesome . I love the flavour of this. I love this platform throgh this platform I can able to share our traditional recipe all over the world. So without wasting time let's learn how to make it.
Preparation time: 1 hours
Cook time: 40 minutes
Serving person: 3-4
Total time: 1 hrs 20 minutes
Ingredients list of this recipe
First I measure 1 kg rice flour. Then fry the rice flour well in low heat. I added salt at this step. Mix the salt and rice powder well and stir it repeatedly so that it does not stick to the pan. After stirring for 10 to 12 minutes, the rice flour is ready.
Key Ingredients Amounta Picture Rice flour 1 KG Coriander leaves As you want Chili powder 1/2 tbs Turmaric powder 1/2 tbs Salt As required Ginger pest 1/2 tbs Garlic pest 1/2 tbs Water As required
Step-II
In this step I added ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, chili powder. I added ginger paste and garlic paste because of its flavor. This cake is not prepared with many ingredients. I added chili powder for a little spiciness and turmeric powder for color. I have given all the ingredients together. If you want you can add cumin powder here and you can skip turmeric powder. Then the color of cake will be white.
Step-III
Then I prepare a special pan for making this cake. It should be prepared by steaming. For steaming, I heat water in another pot under a perforated pot. This will cook the cakes on top with the steam of hot water.
Step- IV
Then I used coriander leaves to give a special flavor to this cake. I took some fresh coriander leaves and finely chopped them. It should be very thin, so that it mixes well with the dough. You can use onion leaves or mustard flowers here for flavor. You can add flavor according to your taste. Here I have given the flavor of coriander leaves.
Step-V
Then I mixed all the ingredients together with water. This step has to be done very carefully. Be careful not to add too much water at once and never use hot water. This work should be done for relatively long time with little water. While mixing must be pressed well with the help of palm.
Step- VI
Then I took a small amount of dough and shaped it with the palm of my hand. Here the cakes are different according to the traditions of different districts of our country. It is made in circular, triangular, square, cylindrical, polygonal, etc. But our mothers, grandmothers and ancestors prepare this cake with this shape. This cake is prepared by smoothing the ends between two hands. I used to prepare pots with this dough when I was younger. I will attach some of my previously prepared pictures to this post for reference. I own the copyright of those pictures.
Step- VII
Then I add put all the cakes for steam. It look around 40 minutes. Finally it is ready to server.

Thank you for presenting such a beautiful Eka Mera pitha recipe to us. I never ate Mera Pitha like this. We always boiled the rice powder with salt and ate it with bharta, or meat. But you made it very differently, which made the pie very beautiful.
