Today, I am very glad to join the response to the “The Debate (Week 47)” post created by @sahmie in Steem Fashion&Lifestyle community. First, let us decide on the topic which we will discuss in the further lessons Called “Is Homework Necessary for Learning?” the topic attracts many opinions. Homework has for many years been part of education with the belief that it helps enhance what was taught in class. Though, some debates exist whether it improves the knowledge of those concepts or just increases stress in students. Being a Learner and interested in professional development I am interested in answering this question concern the role of homework in today’s learning environment looking at the advantages and limitations of its use.

Of course, rather homework can serve a truly important function and that is to assist in the memorization of things that were taught in school. There is always a great opportunity when we review content on our own or in groups other than during the class since we can take our time to consolidate and improve our knowledge. We are often in class exposed to new ideas within a short span of time and this often makes it very hard for one to absorb all the information being taught within a given lesson. As a result, I always have a possibility to go through these concepts in my own pace, not to mention that homework lets apply the freshly acquired knowledge in practice.
That is why homework for me is a connection between study and comprehension. This way I can realize that maybe some directions in the problem are still unclear to me and I shall dedicate necessary amount of time to it. This process makes learning optimized for the long term since it helps us cement new ideas when we are through with them. Nevertheless I think that homework must be reasonable and appropriate; too much homework may cause stress and that directly counters learning.
Finally I said that homework is helpful if not done in a careless manner; it assists us in memorizing what was taught in class besides practicing what was taught in class.

When I have too much homework, I get anxiety and pressure in a way. A big stack of assignments in front of me is overwhelming in the very least, and sometimes I struggle to decide where to begin and wonder if I will be able to finish all the works before the set deadline. This pressure to perform and complete all the tasks makes learning feel more like a chore rather than a way to gain knowledge and personal growth which erases some of the fun of actually grasping what you’ve been taught.
Yes there will be a feeling of relief once it is done, however i think that doing moderate amount of homework is even better. If we try to cram too much information at one time, though, our brains get overtaxed and it becomes difficult to properly encode information we’re supposed to learn.
Yes, I believe firmly that there are several possibilities to turn it into something rather more useful and entertaining. The modification of assignments could be another way for its implementation: for example, making them more applicable in everyday practice. For instance, when the child is required to do many worksheets, more creative and problem solving projects can make learning easily enjoyable.

One suggestion is to introduce some element of choice in homework as an differentiated approach to learning. Enabling students to pick activities which they would like to do or areas in which they are good offer some measure of choice to homework assignments while making the process less robotic. Furthermore, short and brief assignments or homework based on specific concepts would further cement the ideas into our minds effectively, unlike what currently feels like time wastage.
To my mind, the idea that homework has to be as interactive and versatile as a game, and as individualized as a student, can help to turn homework from something boring and nerve-racking to something fascinating and valuable, a true and important part of learning.
Lastly, homework is an essential part that is used to enhance what a learner is taught in class.

Well done you have written well
Your take on homework is very interesting and thoughtful! Giving students options in assignments can help them be more engaged, as they have control over their learning. This approach can help reduce boredom and make learning feel more personal and relevant. Short assignments that focus on core concepts also help to avoid work that feels like meaningless repetition.
The idea of making homework interactive and game-like is certainly a positive innovation in education. With this approach, students can see homework as an opportunity to deepen their understanding rather than just an obligation.
