Tell us the incident that happened to you or others or that you heard.

At my shop, I have different customers with different attitudes. Yeah, I’m not a perfect person as well but I always want to make sure that I do well by people and if any of my customers run to me for help, I always try to help them in any way that I can.

After I finished selling goods to Mama Kao, I made sure that I calculated her goods well because she’s the kind of person who complains a lot. She paid some of her money and was still owing me a sum of eighteen thousand Naira. After some minutes, she came back. She was looking very angry and she started to shout.
You miscalculated my goods!!!. She said all sorts of words and I was trying to calm her down but she walked out on me.

I went straight to her shop. She didn’t welcome me and even told me not to worry about it. I declined but made sure that I calculated it again. Again, I was right. She forgot to calculate one of the goods she bought but we eventually did. She felt so sorry and apologized. I saw the look on her face and I’m sure that she realized that she had messed up.

She wasn’t even calm and she was being rude. I guess she’s quick to forget that she’s owing me some money and I render help to her. That was bad.

The impact it had on you and what you learnt from it.

People are so quick to forget things. People are quick to forget if you’re the one who helps or even feed them. I’ve learned not to go extreme for people. Just help them with the little that you can and don’t expect things from them.
Honestly, I didn’t expect the woman to come shout at me even though I was right. I felt bad and she didn’t even thing about the help I render to her and that’s just how people can be.

Secondly, don’t be surprised with what people do to you. People act funny. I guessed I messed up when I expected the woman to be calm. We all are not the same and I’ve learned that already.
