Mr. Baba goes to town
Mr. Baba in his youth was so involved with Juju. The talismans of his magic were iron bracelets with gold marks on them. He lived in a village called Momosi were there was no electricity.
Mr. Baba happened to move to a town(Tamale) to visit his friend Aliko. It was early in the morning and it was time for breakfast. Aliko decided to heat hot water so that he would prepare tea for breakfast. He brought out a metallic heater to heat the water.
"Set fire so that we heat the water, what is this stick you have kept inside the water. What is this!?", exclaimed Mr. Baba. Aliko looked back at him and smiled because he understood that Mr. Baba didn't know about electricity and then left to get them bread to go with the hot tea.
After Aliko left, Mr. Baba was still enraged by what he taught was madness. "How can this stick make the water hot what nonesense!", he said to himself. As the heater was still plugged into the mains, Mr. Baba said to himself, let me check whether this thing is really makong the water hot". He stretched out his hand and kept it into the water. "zzzap zzzap", Mr. Baba had the shock of his life. Mr. Baba exclaimed, " I have fought 14 battles in my life none of which was i defeated, whatever magic this is I will defeat it".
Mr. Baba was a man of the old ways who never gave up in the face of danger. He chanted all his incantations and then pulled towards him his bag he brought from the village. He brought out 12 iron rings and 52 iron bracelets dawned them and chanted his incantations again and then stretched out his hand another time and deeped into the water the second time.
After the second shock Mr. Baba knew it was a lost battle. Immediately, he packed his ornaments back and left Tamale never to come back again.
Hope you had a good laugh, Mr. Baba wasn't educated on what electricity was and the fact the iron was a very conductive material. The phrase "Education is key" could not be used better as in this story. Education would have been the key to winning this battle,
