La tierra del amanecer o del sol naciente es Japón, en la antigüedad el Príncipe Shotoku quería tener el mismo sistema burocrático de China y envió una carta que decía así:
Con la finalidad de tener una relación de igualdad con China así como hacer que ellos cambiaran el nombre que le tenían predeterminado a Japón, el cual era Woguo, que significaba "país enano". Así que decidió llamar a su imperio como 'El País Donde Nace El Sol.
