Education in the 21st Century

Wondering what your thoughts are on the state of education in your own territory. I have been in the Learning & Development world for over 10 years, and I love it.

I love it, though, because I hate it...Let me explain

I believe that with all that neuroscience has taught us, in terms of how people learn, effective methods in which to engage, it still seems that by and large, there is a reliance on old methodologies . It is somewhat infuriating that we have not progressed at similar speeds to that of which the sciences of our areas is showing.

Experiential learning really should be taking the torch, certainly within the last 20 years, and yet it is still seen as somewhat of a novelty to learning.

What are your best practices in terms of the transference of learning?

I work in a business setting and so therefore work primarily with young adults. Some projects I have seen considerable success, others not so much, but my love for the job lies in the fact that you can always try something different, evaluate, tweak, and repeat.
