First part

It was with greater intent and purpose that the hosts began the second half and needed just 10 minutes after the restart to double their lead through the outstanding Reece James.

The right back had controlled a cross from the left on his chest and with a lot of room given him by the Juventus defence, he set himself up for a crispy finish into the far corner. Szczesny had no chance of stopping that.

Chelsea were yet to gt out of the blues of James' goal when another academy connection made it three. Ruben Lotus-Cheek, who had come on to replace the injured Kante set up Hudson-Odoi to compound Juventus's woes.

Mendy saw little work to do and when he did, he did wonderfully well, like when he turned Weston McKennie's powerful effort over the bar from a rare chance created by Juventus.

There was still time in stoppage time for Chelsea to add a fourth as Ziyech, who had moments earlier missed a chance set up for him by Werner returned the favour to the German, who calmly converted to make it four for Chelsea.

Concluding Thoughts

The side more deserving of the win on the night had it as Chelsea reigned superior over the Italian giants from the blast of the whistle.

The game was Thomas Tuchel's 50th game in charge of the Blues since taking over in January and amazingly, he has won 32 of those games, a 64 per cent win rate. This is more than any other team in all of Europe during this time.

Aside from winning most, he has lost just 7 and drawn 11, keeping 31 clean sheets in this period and has seen his team concede a stingy 24 goals in what is arguably the best defensive record since January.

With the win, Chelsea have leapfrogged Juventus to the top of the group, ahead by three points and needing just a point in the last game to cement their top spot.

This was Juventus' biggest loss since their 4-0 loss to Roma in February of 2004 in the Italian Serie A.

I didn't know the game would be that easy for Chelsea to win. Four goals to zero is too much for Juventus; one of the Italian giants

Same here. I was really hoping for Juventus to stretch them, even though I knew it would have been hard, giving Juventus' recent run of form. It just shows how classy Chelsea have been this season.

Not just this season, since the arrival of Tuchel

Chelsea had an impressive performance. I love James goal. Last time they were the holders but they didn't made is out of the group. They had this time and they are in great position to win it.

Sure, they've broken that Jinx. They're indeed title favorites, even though I'd pick Bayern and Man City ahead of them.
