The School Life I prefer by @simonnwigwe

I welcome you all to my blog once again. I'm so delighted to present my participation in this wonderful contest titled the school life I prefer. I want to specially appreciate the organiser of this amazing contest in the person of @goodybest. This is indeed an interesting topic which is worth talking about and for that reason I'm presenting my entry today. The questions below will guide me through the topic in question.

Before I go on to talk about my high school and college life, I will want us to discuss what both high school and college are all about. We need to understand what high school is and what college is. In the next paragraph, I will explain these two terms in very clear words.

High school is an educational institution that offers secondary education to adolescence, this school is normally attended by people who have finished primary school. It is after high school that people can now move to college. We can see the college as a vocational institute where people are been trained in a particular field of study.

With that being said, I want to believe we all understand the difference between high school and college. In high school, you are always forced to do eventually everything such as going to class to read, performing all activities organised by the school and many more. The case of the college is different because you are not forced to do anything.

My high school life was quite very stressful because I attended a command secondary school where the military treated us as though we are soldiers. Though I learnt to be very disciplined and cautious of time the treatment was indeed very harsh. You have little or no say about your life in school because life is regimented.

In college, I was completely free to do things for myself, you don't get to be forced to do anything at all. I go to lectures anytime I wish and I also study at will. There was complete freedom. So I do things the way I want here in the college. No one controls my life here at all.

As I have earlier stated, in my high school days, my life was completely restricted and that is one thing I don't like about my life during that period since I have no right or freedom at all to do anything for myself. With that being said, what I like most about my high school was the fact that discipline was the watchdog of our motto. I learned to be very disciplined in handling situations.

In the case of the college, my staying there was quite fun but despite that, I still face a little challenge with court guys, lecturers and many more. Even though you are free to attain lectures at will, you still have to fulfil the requirement of all the lecturers by buying textbooks and handouts before you can pass their courses. This is an aspect that was not fun at all because most times you won't even have money to eat but you have to purchase a textbook.

In both lives, I have learned a whole lot. I learnt to be cautious of time and discipline in my high school days which I transmitted to my university days to make me very successful. The college teaches me to be more responsible because no one will punish you for not reading or don't assignments. You will have to become responsible and know what is right and wrong and do them at the right time.

I prefer my college life because it is a call to responsibility. Everyone in life goes from one stage to the other. College life taught me how to discover myself and also work towards achieving my dreams. Since you are not obligated to do anything at all, you are very free to make decisions which in the end will make you or break you. I learned to be able live independent in my college days and I also learned to stay with other people around.

School life is built upon one another. It is a normal transition from one stage to the other. The high school most times is a period where your life is completely under check and control whereas college life is a stage where you have to live freely and make decisions that may change your life forever.
