Choosing a career path..png

All my life, i have been faced with a complex situation of what to do with my life, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, I'm sure no one has their lives all figured out. With more years pass by, it is becoming a more pressing issue to me, what is my purpose?, what can I do that'll set me up financially for life?.

Well i always wanted to be a medical personnel, a surgeon to be precise, I loved the idea of being a man who could manually correct other men, women and children. It made me feel like i could become a mechanic for the machine of the human body. The human body is totally complex, there isn't anything special or simple about it, even though it just looks like a body, head and two sets of limbs.

I also loved the idea of being a surgeon because of the opportunity I'll be presented with to change the lives of others, to put smiles on the faces of mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons, little by little changing the world from the theatre. I also loved the look I'll get, it is arguably the best suit up for a career in my opinion, baggy outfits called scrubs that could come in any color, and the official foot wear requirements in the theater are crocs!

I can also remember my career fantasies of being a civil engineer. My God, i remember now loving the idea of wearing a jacket and a helmet and boots! The fashion sense behind that was too enticing. Looking at buildings besides my house being constructed from scratch and made into this fortress standing 50 meters tall from the floor and being paid to do such an awesome thing, it seemed unreal and too good to be true.

Which would you choose.png

Choosing a career path between these two choices took me three long years of thinking, through out my senior secondary schooling, all i could think about between classes was which of these would be the better choice. I slowly was brought to a reality that choosing a career path is not based on the career outfit, but what i enjoyed doing the most or had a passion for and at the time, i didn't really have passion for anything but football, so my brother and I tried out for a football scout training in kwara, but that didn't turn out well.

By SS2 I had given into the subtle pressure to be a medically inclined worker, and I had now started forcefully developing a love for health related subjects (including food and nutrition, yum!). I managed to get into medical school couple of years later, and i wouldn't say I wasn't getting along with human anatomy, physiology or biochemistry, but I can surely say that I had no passion for it. I have been told multiple times that if i am to go down a career path, it has to be something I love and i think i just found that one thing.

My current career choice

Even though I am currently studying medical physiotherapy, i have just begun a new journey in my life, and that is a journey to becoming a photographer. I know, to people who know me personally it might sound like a joke (not because I can't take good pictures), but photography is something awesome to me that i never overlook. I have taken sometime given to me by this ASUU strike to look into photography and everything about it is just beautiful. I love the idea of creativity and ingenuity and i feel like photography is solely based on stuff like that.

However I don't know if this is a permanent choice, and i sure hope it is, but if i choose something new i would let you all know. This doesn't mean i am dropping out. I really want to get the degree for my parents and then run off to do what i truly enjoy.

conclusion

The world is evolving, and it is currently moving with a strong wave of technology and media. In my opinion, choosing a career path that is outside this wave is just going to cause you to drown. However, choosing to make a career on a job type that is known to bring in the cash for that sole reason is an even worse idea. Career choice should be influenced by deeper reasons and depends on the person's abilities, talents and lifestyle.

I hope you enjoyed reading this article, please wish me luck as i start this journey properly, and i need donations for a new camera in case you want to donate 08107748255 is my phone number, text me and I'd send you my account number. Hello @rexxalo, Choosing a career path is one of the toughest decisions a teenager has to make because their whole future depends on it.

However, only one thing must be constant in every choice you make, which is actual love and passion for what you want to do.
