Cultism: The downfall of Chijioke!

Chijioke was a quiet, humble and a hard-working guy who newly gained admission into the higher-institution, having grown up in the village.......and now moving into an entirely new environment where there was absolute freedom and divers forms of activities and lifestyles, chijioke became enticed to join the crowd and enjoy what he thought was life.

Being totally free from his parental disciplines and supervision, he felt obliged to do as pleased, and this became a negative turning point for him. He began to abscond from classes, attending night parties and indulging in other immoral and illegal activities. One thing led to another..... He became an alcoholic and started smoking, and was finally initiated into Cultism.

The bright and academically sound chijioke became a dullard, his exemplary Lifestyle and highly admired personality took a 180 degrees U-turn. He became rugged and deadly. From smoking, he started stealing, selling of hard drugs and terrorizing the neighborhood.

As time went on, due to his Haggard way of life...He was rusticated from school and handed over to the police for detention. Having been detained, he sought to escape. Unfortunately for him, he was caught,tortured and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. That became the end of his Education, as he spent a good number of years behind bars.

.A scriptural query asked: What shall it profit you to gain the whole world and loose your soul??

Cultism has become a deadly virus in our society that has claimed lives in their quest for fame, popularity, power and other ignorant reasons. In the case of our story, if Chijioke had taken out time to ask himself series of questions like......

1: Is endangering my life worth it for this temporary gratification?
2: How is my environment influencing me?
3: Am I pursuing the right goals or am I doing otherwise?

If Chijioke had asked himself these questions, I don't think he would have ended as he did.
Cultism has ended carriers, and it has destroyed destinies. The subject has eaten deep into the mind of so many youths, especially in our campuses.

Conclusion

The above fiction is glaring that Chijioke ended badly,his education came to a halt, and he became a complete nuisance.....He disappointed his family too. This has always been how it ends for those who make wrong choices and can't delay gratification.
The fight against Cultism must continue, untill it is totally eradicated and controlled.
