ACADEMIC LIFE IN CAMPUS
Intellectual growth and development are at the center of a Seattle University education, which should come as no surprise.
In all areas, students will be challenged to think critically and broadly. We expect instructors and curricula to push students to their limits. After all, they've come for a reason!
Academic support services and resources are available at Seattle University to assist and guide students as they proceed through their university degree.
These services stem from our concern for each student and our dedication to academic performance. It is our goal to push each kid to reach as far as they can while also supporting them as they work to fulfill the challenges.
Getting used to the academic environment might be a challenge for some students. College curriculum is more difficult, and it is usual for grades to fall behind.
Students who excelled in high school with minimal effort may discover that they need to "actually" study to succeed. Learning to balance academic and social life can also take some time.
If students are having difficulty, there are a variety of academic support resources on campus that can help them obtain the help they need.
The first of these resources is, of course, faculty who are dedicated to both teaching and research. Getting to know the instructors in your classes is one of the most significant actions students can do to enrich their education at Seattle University.
Faculty members can assist students with course material and, when necessary, refer them to university resources. A large number of faculty members also work as academic advisors.
Advisers help students organize their academic programs, select coursework, and mentor them in their discipline's procedures.
Other forms of assistance are also available, all of which are provided at no cost to the student. Peer tutoring in a variety of areas, professional study skill consultations, workshops on academic success themes, and facilitated study groups adjunct to classes that students typically find challenging are all available.
At any stage of the writing process, the Writing Center offers peer consultation on writing assignments. Drop-in homework help is available in the Mathematics, Computer Science, and Accounting Departments for students enrolled in those subjects.
CONCLUSION
I hope this article helps a lot of us who has the interest in studying and yet in campus, there are variety of groups and centers in the university that aids student in all forms.
Let’s be outspoken as well to the society around us in campus in other to know more about the school and their various programmes which can be if need to you.
