THE SKILLS I AM LEARNING OR INTENDED TO LEARN BY @ishayachris
I see skills as an ability that a person have learned in order to bring about a predetermined result with maximum certainty. It can also be defined as something that a person can do very well from either training or natural ability. We have thousands of people around the world who have made life better for themselves and people around them just with the skills they acquired. We also have graduates who are not looking up to any government employment because they have skills that can Keep them out of poverty forever. Unfortunately, they are thousands of students and graduates who have no skills, and are not willing to learn any despite the economic condition of the country. I'm happy not to be among those who have neither acquired a skill, nor have any intention of acquiring any.
The skills I have learned.
Me in garage
When I was a child, my parents saw a need for me to acquire a skill that will be beneficial to me in future. As such, they decided to enroll me in a garage where I will be able to learn how to repair cars. Back then, I go to school from 7:30, and once I close from school, I move down to garage. Today I'm a graduate and the handwork I have learned have helped me a lot throughout my stay in the university. With what i earned in garage, I was able to pay my school Fees and my accommodation. To cut the story short, I have learned how to repair cars, and I'm also a degree holder.
The skills I intend to learn
I'm now a serving corp member in kwara state, and I intend to learn branding and customization in one company thats registered with NYSC. In the company, they teach corp member how to:
- saw clothes (tailoring)
- graphics design
- tie and dye
- branding of clothes, plates, nylon, cars, sign post, etc.
- make trow pillow
- magic mug
- awards
- Gift box
Below are the pictures of some of the activities that are being carried out in the company i intend to learn the branding and customization.
Looking at the environment I came from, I believe I will be able to make life better for myself and my host community if I'm able to learn the skill, because they is high demand of branding and customization in my locality, yet people that are into the business are few. As such, I have made all the necessary movement to learn the skill.
