An Incident i will never forget @ Inksvoice

On the 15th of October 2018, I came back from the shop around 2:00 pm. I was having a very boring day in the shop so I decided to come home and rest since no customer is coming in to buy some goods. I lay down on my bed and within a few minutes, I heard a knock on my door.

I reluctantly went and opened the door and it was a young man, fair in complexion and very tall.
He introduced himself as Mike and that he is my next-door neighbor. I was surprised because it's the first time I am getting to meet him.

Due to the nature of my business, I hardly stay at home during the day. I go out around 5:00 am and come back by 11:00 pm. So, I hardly recognize the people from my compound. It's a compound filled with busy people and no one had time for quarrel, gossip, or conversation.

Mike handed me an invitation card, he told me he is getting married next month. With a smile, I collected the card and congratulated him because I know it's not easy for one to make up his mind and settle down in this era. Most young guys can attest to that.

I attended the wedding and it was an enjoyable moment. From the look on the couple's faces, I can attest that they love each other. I don't know much about the girl in question but from the conversation, I heard between two women. I can say they have been dating since secondary school and the girl has sacrificed a lot for the guy. One of the women said she is the one that found the guy the current job he is doing.

The first few months of their marriage were going well until one night I heard the woman crying and complaining of her husband's cheating habit. This discussion and quarrel persisted almost every night that neighbors began to complain about it.

One faithful afternoon, The man brought a particular lady to the house, and unlucky for him the wife came back from the market and met him with the lady in their bedroom. Out of anger she picked up a kitchen knife from the shelf, went inside the room, and stabbed the lady.

The lady was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, she didn't survive it. Matilda was arrested and charged to court and afterward sentenced to life imprisonment.

She cried and cried; Her marriage of 6months old ended up in a tragic state. Her husband got married again after much persuasion from his parents. After 9 months she gave birth in the prison.

LESSON:
I always feel very bad when I hear young people say they don't have time to listen to all this relationship talk or even read books about relationships and marriage. Some will tell you I want to make money first, that when I have money everything will fall in place.

The truth is that your relationship and marriage life makes up a very large chunk of your life and should also be taken into consideration while pursuing your dreams and ambition in life. How can you be a good leader and control your company when you cannot handle issues that regard your relationship or your marriage? Even the Bible said; how can you be a good leader if you cannot handle the affairs of your own home.

Anger and lack of self-control!

This story has caused this young lady a lot; she couldn't enjoy her marriage, her son has been subjected to a very pitiable life at such an innocent age. Her freedom has been limited and her life is no longer hers.

Read books and attend Relationship and marriage seminars. It's an aspect of our life that we are to pay huge attention to. You will learn from people's mistakes. You will learn how to overcome challenges like cheating or infidelity, nagging, anger, you will also learn how to resolve conflict in your relationship or your marriage. etc.

As the year is rounding up, why not try something different this time around. Give your relationship-life adequate attention for a better home and a peaceful family in the future.
