Greetings Steemians♨️

Hello Steemians, it's so wonderful that I saw this contest as it's contents are quite relatable to. Without wasting our time I would be jumping directly into this with my article discussing in details about my favourite Lecturer in my University, the prestigious University Of Nigeria, Nsukka(UNN).

Well, throughout my 1st year in school, I never came in close contact with any lecturer because I wasn't really the type that socializes with elderly people. I had the mindset then that any lecturer I would make me fail his course if he noticed that I don't get his questions correctly in his tests, assignments or even exams. This made me to shy away from these lecturers because personally I don't really also like being noticed. It was in my Second year in school I to university.

My Favorite Lecturer

The name of my favourite Lecturer is Master Akah Joshua, a lecturer in the department of Science Laboratory Technology, my department to be precise. He's among the newest junior staffs my department appointed after studying in the university.

How I Met Him...

I'm a really clumsy fellow who doesn't get informations about fixed classes on time because then I felt that key point are not stated in those kind of classes, and to an extent, the classes I was missing was a really crucial course that once failed, I would repeat my level. It was a technician drawing class yet I had never gone for classes and seen us using drawing boards, little did I know that the practical class was holding during the fixed class for five weeks.

The lecturer noticed this and being a caring and God fearing fellow, observed that I wasn't skipping this intentionally, just then he called me to order personally after one of his regular time table scheduled classes and asked me why I have not gotten his drawing board nor attended his Technical Drawing(TD) classes. I literally told him the honest truth that I simply lived with my uncle far away from the school and that our class representative is selectively social, he doesn't disseminate informations in the group chat.

His Unique Qualities...

Let's just say that the man observed me personally and talked with me more often. I really got to be so cool with him even till date. From time time to time we did also talk on Whatsapp, he gave me the outline on the things to draw if I really needed to pass his tests and examination.

I would say from the relationship I have with him that he's a friendly, God fearing, caring man and although he can be mean whenever he posses as a lecturer most times but I think it's so that he won't be taken for granted.
He's also quite observant and helpful, smart for a newbie lecturer. This is one of the reasons why he's among the most approachable staffs in my department.

Why He's My Favorite Lecturer

Vividly, there are two ways of earning respect. One is by being friendly and the other way is by putting fear into your sub ordinates and in this case the students. Some or even most Lecturers, especially the newbies always want to gain their their respect through creating some sort of fear in students which makes them unapproachable and in most cases if the Lecturer does not relate well with his students he might see enough reasons to fail then.

How I unintentionally skipped classes would make any kind of Lecturer to think I take his course for granted and fail me, but this man called me one on one asked me why I did so and still helped to put me on the same page with other students. And at the end of the semester I got my first grade A in a departmental in his course with a score of 77.

He was the first lecturer that showed me kindness and understood my and till date, we still chat on Whatsapp and I still gift him with airtimes and some small gestures to tell him how grateful I am too have met him.

Up till today I still wish he could teach me another course. He's just a rare gem.

Conclusion

Above is a rare picture of me with this handsome, young Lecturer of mine.

Well this is my entry on this contest telling us about my favourite lecturer, Master Akah Joshua. I hope you enjoyed reading this and I would be looking forward to participating in more contests in this community.
