Introduction

Good day dear members of campusconnect, It's a pleasure to be writing here again. Today my article focuses on this engagement challenge on the topic of Virtual learning. Virtual learning is the interaction between tutor and learner in a virtual space/class where information are shared. Most times people confuse virtual learning with E learning but I'm gonna clear out that thoughts as you proceed in reading my article...

Question 1: Will virtual learning shape education and Learning the way we know it

Virtual learning is a process whereby information are shared through a virtual space e.g Zoom, Google Classroom. while E- Learning is the passing of Information through technology methods e.g E-handouts, Online Articles and notes. The difference between the two is the fact that virtual learning delivers a real time interaction between two or persons without them physically meeting while E Learning deals with information that someone has embedded into an Electronic gadget and shared to students.

Will virtual learning shape education and learning? The answer is yes! Virtual learning is a more friendly and efficient method of learning because it involves the learner to be a his/her place of comfort and the teacher to do same and they Interact without meeting physically. As technology become more advanced, we ought to move with it, the traditional schooling system will be outdated very soon as virtual learning kicks in. During the pandemic, many students were forced to stay at home, but with technology at hand, they were able to learn a lot with the use of the internet.

Question 2: Do you think your university will incorporate virtual learning into its curriculum?/ State the reason for the answer

I don't think my university will do such, because they feel students don't take school seriously, for instance the students hate attending classes and when the school mostly used to drag their lazy ass to school was with the use of attendance grading, if my university incorporate this virtual learning, students will have the chance to skip classes and blame it on internet issues or lack of internet access.

As far as I'm concerned, my university will like to stick to the traditional classroom system and they'll be reluctant to upgrade. But while Nigeria lacks behind, other countries have incorporated virtual learning into their basic schools and universities, they feel that the current educational system is outdated and needed an innovative means to tackle this and thus virtual learning was concluded.

Question 3 : Do you think such a move will be plausible

It can be possible if the government put more resources into it and establish another staff for the running and maintenance of the gadgets. Since Nigeria most problem is lack of maintenance, even if the government should accomplish this scenario, if no maintenance is given our then it'll be all for nothing as students lack a responsible behaviour when items aren't theirs.

So providing the gadgets shouldn't be their only concern but maintenance and management should be considered also, with Al these factors in place, I'm certain that it'll be completed and accomplished.

The benefits of virtual learning includes;

  • A free and flexible learning environment

  • A safer and faster means of Sharing knowledge and information

  • Reduces Stress of students and teachers

  • Real time interaction without physically meeting

  • Teachers and students have more time on their backs

Question 4: Have you had any experience with virtual learning, if yes kindly indicate when and how

No I haven't, I don't have any experience with virtual learning, I've only endulge in E learning during the pandemic by reading online notes and educational videos but to experience virtual space with a tutor will be so thrilling for me. I hope one day I'll be able to visualize this method.

Conclusion

I've enjoyed writing this article till now, with virtual learning, I'm certain that it'll improve the educational system round the world and hope to enlightened students into studying and learning more. Thanks for reading.

You are very correct, I mean if students can miss lectures despite the attendance grading how much more if it's online it will give them more excuse to miss classes and blame it on poor internet connection or lack of power.

Most students get easily distracted with their phones or devices and if they ever have the chance to switch to virtual learning, some will blame their inability to attend classes based on network issues. Lol.
