SEC - S15W6 : LIVING WITH STEEM
Hey Steemian friends!
2020 Oct 17th is the date this relationship has started. I was good at writing fictional stories and was an award winning drama writer in my school days. So my sister has always insisted me that I should look at this platform, she somehow knew that my talent could find a home here. But writing stories in the English language was not my strong suit and never took this platform seriously. The dollar amount that Korean posts received on the main page was almost jaw-dropping and I felt like “this can’t be” and I smelled a fish at first.
However, one morning I thought okay maybe let’s give it a try and see whether I can receive $100+ in a single article like those Korean dudes. The day passed by and I received some votes, comments and I was quite happy with how I felt overall. It was my first article so I spent a lot of time because everything was new to me. Yet seeing that my hard work gaining some sort of financial support felt awesome.
In the end, I received $7.20 and it felt like a victory. Also a visit from SC01 (which was another awesome thing but I didn’t know how special that was) and contest organizer @girolamomarotta’s comment with a personal touch gave a sense of belonging and recognition within the community. So there started my journey of living with steemit...
My first entry: Dear Italy... Greetings from Sri Lanka!One door opened another, led me to the Crypto Academy. Didn’t know a thing about cryptocurrency or trading and that initial demotivation almost pushed me away. However, the support from the Steemit Team and the knowledge shared by many professors and students fascinated me and convinced me to give it a shot. So, there I began to sink into YT videos of trading for hours. Downloaded a lot of books related to trading and studied them topic by topic for entire seasons. Little by little I grew confident to trade but damn I liquidated my account on 03 separate occasions. However, the on-and-off success taught me a valuable lesson, don't be greedy to earn fast! and stick to a solid strategy with risk management in place. Thanks to the Crypto Academy, I discovered a newfound skill in trading that I hadn't even considered before.

My vocabulary expanded, and now I feel I’m a much better writer. That is a sense of accomplishment in my life. The decision to live with Steemit has provided me with financial support and a pathway to continuous growth. Now I carry a sense of pride, considering myself fortunate to be part of a community that believes in this platform.
As I wrap up this journey so far, I can't help but dream of the day when Steem surpasses its all-time high. The thought of that has me over the moon. If that happens, Steemit could be the best decision I’ve ever taken. For this moment, I am grateful for the doors that Steemit has opened for me, and with a heart full of hope, I look forward to continuing this incredible journey of living with Steem for many many more years.

It's understandable that you were initially hesitant, but the allure of the dollar amounts on Korean posts caught your attention.
